General Vulnerario's obsession with females is not due to a search for romantic companionship or a cruel desire to expand his own personal blood legacy, but to a demographic, military, and geopolitical necessity critical to the survival of his empire.

Efrafa suffers from a severe shortage of females and an extremely low birth rate. Due to extreme overcrowding, lack of sunlight, the stress of confinement, and strict military control, the female rabbits in Efrafa have either stopped reproducing or are suffering from madness.

Vulnerario needs to capture and retain females for the following reasons:

1. Prevent Collapse Due to Aging

A military stronghold needs a constant supply of soldiers. Without new births, the Owslafa (its army) will run out of recruits in the medium term, weakening Efrafa's defenses against predators and destroying its utopia of "absolute security."

2. To curb internal rebellions

The discontent among the rabbits of Efrafa is the General's greatest internal threat. Led by figures like Nelthilta, the females are desperate to escape due to overpopulation and the ban on digging new tunnels. Vulnerario needs to control them and bring in "new blood" from the outside to stabilize the population and calm the unrest.

3. Resource Control and Expansion

For Vulnerario, individual rabbits are mere resources of the state. When he discovers that the free colony of Watership Down has females and fertile territory, his conqueror's mindset dictates that he must destroy them, absorb them, and claim those females to ensure the economic and military growth of his own regime.

• "Win or Die" Mentality: He knows neither surrender nor retreat. If cornered or challenged, he will fight to the bitter end. He would rather perish fighting fiercely against a huge dog than accept defeat.

• Control Paranoia: He is obsessed with the security of his lair. He does not tolerate dissent, secrets, or other people's plans. Any suspicion of betrayal is met with immediate violence or the execution of the suspect.

• Anomalous Strength and Size: This is an exceptionally large and heavy rabbit. In the film, it is capable of tearing off chunks of earth with its claws to dig tunnels and physically overpowering any other rabbit with a single blow.

• Savagery in Close Combat: It is not afraid to shed blood. It fights with savage violence, using lethal bites to the neck, deep tears with its hind claws, and charges with its full body weight. Its style seeks to annihilate or mutilate the opponent.

• Reckless Fury Against Predators: Possesses suicidal courage. Unlike any normal rabbit that flees by instinct, Vulnerary is capable of standing up to, attacking, and driving away much larger animals, such as farm dogs, cats, or badgers.

• Absolute Intimidation: Its mere presence, combined with its fixed gaze (emphasizing its half-closed/one-eyed mandible and exposed teeth), paralyzes common rabbits with terror. Its voice and commands break the morale of its enemies.

• Patrol Organization: His greatest strength is that he never acts alone. Campón excels at coordinating ambushes, surrounding fugitives, and giving clear orders to Owslafa soldiers to cut off escape routes.

• Ground Combat (Bites and Kicks): Fights like a real rabbit. Uses its weight to knock down the opponent, scratches with its hind claws, and bites the ears or neck to subdue, seeking the traitor's submission, not their immediate death.

• Tracking by Scent and Hearing: As a frontier captain, he is an expert at detecting the scent of strange rabbits and listening for movements in the undergrowth from a great distance.

• Pain Resistance: He is accustomed to the severe demands of the Vulnerary General. He can continue running and pursuing objectives even when injured or tired.

The chief law enforcement officer in Efrafa is Captain Campón. He is second in command to General Vulnerario and the leader of the Owslafa patrols that hunt down deserters.

He is also responsible for bringing new rabbits from different burrows and dragging them to his own, presenting them to his leader, General Vulnerario, so he can decide who will serve as a future warrior and who as a worker. The females are usually separated and presented to the general later so he can get to know them, and if he wants one to expand the colony in the future, he can mate with one.

General Vulnerary is the ultimate antagonist. Unlike Champion, he is not a disciplined bureaucrat, but a destructive force of nature. He is a monstrously large, ferocious, and ruthless rabbit, driven by childhood trauma that turned him into a tyrant obsessed with total control.

• Supreme leader: A giant, one-eyed, ferocious rabbit, scarred by childhood traumas caused by predators.

• Ideology: He firmly believes that the only way for the species to survive is by completely giving up freedom in exchange for absolute security.

•Military power: It is capable of fighting face to face against dogs or badgers, instilling absolute terror in both its enemies and its own subjects.

• The Owslafa: A brutal rabbit guard who patrols the tunnels, enforces the laws, and severely punishes dissent.

• The marking system: Rabbits are divided into mandatory groups and marked on their ears at birth to control their identity and position.

• Exit shifts: The inhabitants are only allowed to go out to feed at hyper-regulated times so as not to leave a trace for humans.

• Overcrowding and despair: Female rabbits suffer from a very high rate of infertility and madness due to lack of space, sunlight, and freedom.
