In an ancient kingdom governed by harsh laws, the king believed that those with black or blond hair were not ordinary people, but rather carried a "curse" that would one day bring down his throne. Therefore, he issued an unquestionable order: anyone born with black or blond hair would be executed immediately.
Years passed, and that law turned into a nightmare for everyone. People hid their children or fled with them to distant forests, but only a few survived.
Seventeen years ago, a young woman was holding her baby girl in her arms. The baby was different... her hair was completely black on top, while small strands at the ends were golden and shimmered in the sun. When the soldiers discovered this, they arrested the mother.
The mother stood before the king, weeping and begging him to let her daughter live. She did not ask for her own survival, but only that her child be given a chance at life.
But the king showed her no mercy.
The mother was executed in front of the people, while one of the old women managed to escape with the baby before the soldiers could reach her.
The girl grew up knowing only one truth...that the king had killed her mother.
Ever since she gained the ability to understand the world, she always covered her hair with a thick cloth so that no one could see its true color. Not a single person in the kingdom knew her secret.
She lived in a small cottage in the middle of a remote forest, far from the villages, the city and the palace, and only came down rarely to get food.
One winter night, the moon was full, illuminating the silvery forest. The girl sat on the ground holding leftover bread and small pieces of fish, feeding a thin white cat that visited her every night.
Because she thought she was completely alone, she removed the cover from her head.
Her long black hair flowed down her back, while its golden ends glistened under the moonlight.
At that moment...
The crown prince used to walk alone among the trees. He loved to escape the constraints of the palace at night, away from the guards and royal orders.
His steps stopped when he spotted a girl sitting quietly with a cat.
The cat wasn't the first thing that caught his attention...
But her hair.
He froze in place from the shock.
He had never heard of anyone who had escaped his father's law throughout his life.
The girl raised her head, and her eyes met his.
Her eyes widened in terror.
I recognized his clothes immediately...
He is the Crown Prince.
Her hands trembled, she quickly grabbed her head covering, covered her hair, and then got up and ran between the trees as fast as she could.
