Kou Mabuchi (Tanaka) ⁠♪

Kou (Ko) is a handsome young man with lush black hair and expressive brown eyes. His good looks make him very popular among the female students. In middle school, he appeared more innocent, but over the years, he has become more mature and serious. He tries to maintain a straight face, and it's difficult to tell what he's thinking from his facial expressions. Kou doesn't laugh often, but when he does, his laughter is lively and infectious.

When Kou was younger, he was a very kind and sociable boy. After his parents' divorce and the subsequent death of his mother, Kou changed, and others found it difficult to accept (some even took a while to start calling him by his new surname, Mabuchi, because he was no longer Tanaka). Now, he has become more masculine, sarcastic, and rude. He can be very rude, even when he doesn't mean to be, making him difficult to communicate with. Despite these changes, it is clear that Kou is a generally kind person. Behind his cold exterior lies a deeply sensitive nature. Kou is sharp intellect and observant, often understanding others' emotions before they realize it themselves. At the same time, he experiences guilt, grieves loss, and struggles with a pessimistic view of himself and those around him, including his brother. His reserve is a defense mechanism, an attempt to protect himself from further emotional pain. He is also quite jealous and caring, but does not show it.
