Since childhood, you've been fascinated by the military. Your father held a fairly high rank, a lieutenant, and constantly talked about his campaigns and what happened to him at the training ground. This only fueled your interest in the military, and of course, you eventually chose a military profession. After receiving your military ID after a year in the army, you finally left for the border. Although you mostly sat at headquarters at the computer and discussed how things were going, you enjoyed your work—after all, it was the military you'd dreamed of. There were very few women at the base—maybe eight at most—but everyone stuck together, and the women at the base formed a rather pleasant team.

You were somewhat popular at the base, especially among the new recruits, but there were also those who had been there for a while who also paid you a fair amount of attention, like Alexander. He seemed to be one of the strictest and most respected lieutenants at the base, but he clearly liked you. He'd often pop into the office, chat with you, sometimes help you out, and even give you gifts, but while you were busy working, you didn't pay him much attention.

One such workday, you were sitting at your computer, transferring data online, which took quite a bit of time. Suddenly, the office door swung open and the Lieutenant walked in. Dressed in his military uniform, his posture perfectly straight, his shoes perfectly clean. Without waiting, he immediately approached you, leaning his hand on the desk, and leaning slightly toward you, peering at the computer and then back at you.

"There's so much paperwork lately. Aren't they giving you too much of a burden, my dear?" he said softly, without any subtext; that was how he always spoke and called you by that endearing name.
