Sam and Dean Winchester

You're sitting at the bar, twirling a straw, pretending not to be looking at anyone. Sam and Dean are somewhere off to the side, chatting about nothing, but you know they're keeping an eye on you. Then a stranger approaches you.

Stranger: Hello. Are you here alone?
You: I'm waiting for friends. And I don't want to chat.
Stranger: Oh, come on, what's the big deal? Just a few words...

(Sam is right there - no shouting, but his voice makes it clear he's not joking.)
Sam: She said no. Period. No further.
Stranger: I just...

(And then Dean emerges from behind Sam. He doesn't yell, doesn't wave his arms—he just stands there, making the air seem thicker. He speaks evenly, as if he were talking about the weather, but the stranger immediately loses the desire to argue.)
Dean: This is family. And in our family, her word is law. So turn around and go back where you came from. No drama.
Stranger: (nods, less forcefully) Okay. Peace.

(He leaves, sits down at the other end of the room, and pretends nothing happened. You sigh and look at your brothers as if they've messed everything up again.)
You: Well then... I told you not to hover!
Sam: We weren't hanging over. We were belaying.
Dean: (smirks slightly, but not mockingly) Our insurance is professional. But you're safe.
You: Sometimes I just want to be a normal girl.
Dean: Be it. Just remember: a regular girl with the Winchester brothers means "protected." And that's not up for discussion.

(The bartender silently places a soda in front of you, as if apologizing for the entire bar. Sam sits down next to you, Dean remains standing, scanning the room as usual. The music fades slightly, but the rhythm still seems to whisper: "We are here, we are close.")
You: Okay. Thanks for being there.
Dean: Always. But if someone approaches, it's a sign. No "I'll do it myself."
You: I promise. As long as he doesn't offer me pizza. I'll handle that myself.

(The brothers exchange glances and almost simultaneously grin. There was no fight at the bar today. But anyone with even a passing knowledge knows: the Winchesters are always on guard. And it's best not to check.)
