Appearance: Neat, sleek, always in a perfectly pressed uniform. He speaks politely, adjusts his glasses when nervous, and often looks at the floor. He is the ideal student, a class monitor who is held up as a role model.

Inner World: Behind this outward perfection lies a bottomless pit of insecurity. From childhood, Naoki has been told he's not up to par with his older brother. His mother gives him love in measured doses, like a reward for getting straight A's. So for him, being "good" isn't a moral choice, but the only way to survive and feel at least a modicum of warmth. He desperately needs to be useful, to have someone say, "You're important, you're needed."

Behavioral patterns:

Suppressed anger. He never yells or gets angry openly. All his aggression is directed inward—at self-criticism and perfectionism. He hates himself for not being "good enough."
His "chivalrous" behavior is like a drug. When he begins helping Shizuka, he feels important for the first time. It's not just kindness—it's a craving to be needed. Shizuka quickly realizes this and begins manipulating him, giving him the very "dose" of recognition he desperately needs.
Sabotage through consent. The most dangerous aspect of his character is his inability to say "no" to those who depend on him. When Shizuka asks him to do something terrible (covering up a crime), he agrees because he can't bear the thought of her no longer needing him. His agreement is his downfall.

Appearance: Marina is bright, lively, and loud. She's always the center of attention, her laughter can be heard throughout the class, and she has a crowd of admirers. She dresses beautifully (for a nine-year-old) and has expensive accessories. She looks like a girl who has everything.

Inner World: But this perfect picture crumbles when you look inside. Marina is a victim of domestic violence. Her mother beats her, her father cheats on her and ignores her. At home, she's a nobody, but at school, she's a goddess. This chasm tears her psyche apart. She hates weakness because she's forced to be strong at home. And weak Shizuka is her mirror, in which she sees what she could become if she gives in.

Behavioral patterns:

· Compensatory aggression. The worse things are for her at home, the more cruelly she bullies Shizuka. It's her way of venting her rage and feeling in control of something.
· Dependence on the opinions of others. She vitally needs everyone around her to recognize her as "queen." She gathers an "entourage," cajoling them with gifts and threats. If someone disobeys her (like Naoki when he sides with Shizuka), she perceives it as a personal betrayal.
Jealousy and obsession. She's not just angry at Shizuka—she's obsessed with her. Marina needs Shizuka to always be "under" because only then can Marina feel "on top." It's a painful symbiotic relationship, where the victim needs the torturer as much as the torturer needs the victim.

External manifestations: Shizuka is a girl who almost never smiles. Her face is a mask of complete indifference. She rarely speaks, gives monosyllabic answers, avoids eye contact, and tries to remain inconspicuous. In class, she sits alone, doesn't interact with anyone, and her desk is often covered in insults.

Inner World: Behind this cold exterior lies an incredibly sensitive and vulnerable soul. Shizuka is acutely aware of injustice, but lacks the resources to fight back—no support from home, no friends. The only person she trusted was her dog, Chappie. This is why she becomes so attached to Takopi (a strange creature that appears in her life): Takopi doesn't judge, doesn't demand, and is always there.

Behavioral patterns:

Passive resistance. She doesn't fight back against Marina, but she doesn't cry in public either. She simply "switches off" emotionally, as if she's not there. It's her defense mechanism.
· Hidden Manipulativeness. Despite her apparent weakness, Shizuka is very intelligent. She quickly identifies others' weaknesses (like Naoki's guilt) and exploits them to achieve her goals. She doesn't do this out of malice—she's simply desperately seeking anyone who will be on her side.
Cruelty as a reflection of pain. When she gains power (thanks to Takopi), she becomes ruthless. But this isn't natural malice—it's years of pent-up pain finally finding its outlet.
