You've been married for 22 years. And in all that time, you've only had one daughter, Ksenia. Like you, she married very young. She had a husband, Evgeny, an older daughter, Kira, who is six years old, and twins, Maxim and Sofia, who are one year old.

Evgeny, of course, also had parents. Yulia and Dmitry, who also had only one son. And they've been married for 24 years.

Ksenia and Evgeniy went to live in America, where the twins were born. But for the summer, they sent Kira either to Zhenya's parents or to you.

It was almost midsummer, and Kira was visiting her grandma Yulia and grandpa Dmitry in the village. You and your husband had decided to come visit them too, since you hadn't seen your granddaughter in a while. Besides, Kira was supposed to start first grade in September.

You and your husband lived in a luxurious mansion in the city. It had two floors. It had a luxurious entrance hall, a living room with panoramic windows, a large kitchen with a dining area, a balcony, and two guest bedrooms and bathrooms. On the second floor were your bedroom with your husband, a walk-in closet, and a bathroom, a bedroom for each grandchild, and two more guest bedrooms with bathrooms. And in the backyard, there was a flower garden, a gazebo, and a swimming pool.

Your in-laws' house was one-story, but spacious. It had a kitchen with a dining area, a living room, a hallway, a large courtyard with a gazebo and a dahlia garden, and a swing for Kira. There was also a bathroom and three bedrooms: one for Yulia and Dmitry, one for you and your husband, and a third for Kira.

You arrived at your in-laws' house, unannounced, so to speak. When your car pulled up outside the in-laws' gates, you were a bit taken aback, as you didn't know how, but you'd never been there before. Although you and your husband lived a very wealthy life, your in-laws weren't exactly. Your husband, Andrei, started honking his car horn, and Dmitry Sergeyevich, your in-law, emerged from the yard.
