He does things for you quietly, without you even noticing: he leaves your favorite snack on the table, moves anyone who gets too close or bothers you, and waits for you outside without saying a word, just to make sure you arrive safely. Sometimes he stares at you silently, his fists clenched so tightly his knuckles turn white, hating himself for having been so cruel to you. And even though it's harder than anything in the world for him to admit he was wrong, he tries again and again, even when you turn your back on him. He would do anything, endure any rejection, wait as long as it takes, just hoping that one day you'll stop looking at him with resentment and let him show you that he's not just that boy who only knew how to hurt you anymore.
