Character 3
But there is another side: under this "armor" there is the ability to deep feelings. He is loyal to those whom he considers friends, and is ready to protect his loved ones. He has both romantic relationships (for example, with Yennefer) and a special connection with Ciri — he becomes her mentor and support. In the early books, he may seem more "invincible" and restrained, and in later works he reveals himself more deeply - he shows more emotions, faces "moral bankruptcy", despair, commits impulsive actionsSo the character of the witcher is a balance between protective coldness and lively humanity, between professional cynicism and the ability to deep feelings.
Character 2
Practicality and unpretentiousness. He is unpretentious to household comforts, knows how to settle down in different circumstances, but at the same time appreciates home and does not give them up when there is an opportunityA heightened sense of justice and compassion. Despite the outward severity, he often stands up for the weak and disadvantaged. At the same time, his attempts to avoid bloodshed do not always succeed - life constantly forces him to make a choice. The lifestyle of a monster hunter does not allow you to sit in one place for a long timeThe habit of hiding behind a fictional "code". Geralt came up with a set of rules for himself and sometimes relies on them to justify his decisions or appease clients.
Character
The character of Geralt of Rivia is really very contradictory - he combines both severe restraint and deep humanity. I would say that his personality was strongly influenced by a difficult past and profession, so he has both defense mechanisms and real moral principles. Years of mutations, living among the marginalized and constant danger have developed a habit in Geralt not to show emotions. He often looks imperturbable, speaks rarely and monotonously - this is how he protects himself from vulnerability. He is sharp-tongued, sarcastic, and not inclined to diplomacy. Because of this, he is often misunderstood. In critical situations, he knows how to keep a sober mind, analyze the situation and make informed decisionsCuriosity. Geralt strives to learn new things - he understands the nature of monsters, studies alchemy, and is interested in different cultures. .
Scene 8
But things are happening in a very interesting way. For some reason, for the payment due for completing the task, it occurred to Geralt to ask for something that Dani already has, but does not yet know about. It turned out that this is a pretty child Cirilla, who will twist the plot so that you will remember the author more than once and not without obscenities.
This is where the main story begins, for the sake of which everything was conceived. Sapkowski would not have been Sapkowski if he had not provided us with this surprise... Unexpectedly! Ciri does not appear in front of us immediately, and it would be necessary to pay tribute to the master very effectively. But, that's another story... There are many characters associated with Geralt, as well as... horses. The witcher used his favorite nickname for each of his horses all the time. Whether it was a black mare, or a stallion in apples, they were all invariably called Roach. Why and why history is silent. But it is known for certain that he had a kind of love for them. He cared for and courted in his own way.Throughout his long and eventful life, Geralt had seen a lot. He won almost every fight. And he gave up only twice, remaining defeated by the terrible Vilgefortz and Leto from Gulet. Although the second is already a fantasy of the developers, but the first one, after a warm welcome, had a little crumpled face and lost an eye. Also, later Geralt heroically took revenge by saving the world from the evil of the sorcerer, but you create the story of Leto yourself.In the canonical book version, our favorite hero dies. The author gives a clear hint at the death of the character at the end of the saga, when a strange corpse is brought to the doctors during the war. The pupils are inhuman, and the body is torn in a strange way - either with a pitchfork or something else. This is how Geralt dies. During the pogroms in Rivia, he got into the thick of events and was killed... A simple guy with a pitchfork. A little strange and stupid, and at the same time ironic. Triss makes a stone rain, Yennefer gives her life in an attempt to save her beloved, and Ciri unites their souls in a way known only to her and they find peace in another world. The end of his life is very optimistic, because the woman he loves seems to die with him and the two of them swim along the still water to the apple orchard... In general, a happy ending!
Plot 7
In the equipment behind his back, he always has two swords. According to absurd data: the silver one tames creatures, and the steel one is for shredding people. The truth is that both are for monsters. Which one will lead in battle depends on the situation and the type of enemy.
In addition to melee weapons, which makes him a representative of a murderous profession, he also wields magical signs. It is generally believed that there are 5 of them, but in fact there are much more. The exact number of signs that witchers use in battle is not announced in any publication, and the developers of the game took only those that are most often mentioned. There are also elixirs in everyday life: white honey, Maribor forest, blizzard, swallow... Their list is not small and they are the ones who create a strong witcher immunity.
Geralt is called a "walking contradiction" by the notorious majestic bard-poet and just a ladies' man, maestro Dandelion. From his notes and the manuscript of Half a Century of Poetry, one can learn about the hidden good man inside the brave bruiser. The poet gives a colorful description of the inner world of the Witcher, exposing his good and peaceful sides as a friend and a person. But he was one from birth. And here we see not just a creepy guy with two swords, but a humanoid and even a little cute character with a chaotic life. Yes, he is still a stone idol and an asshole in terms of emotions, but he still has them! In some ways, they even express themselves more vividly than other witchers. He is not even alien to everything human. He was a regular in a woman's bed, preferring sorceresses to lovely young ladies.
By the way, the name Geralt of Rivia is nothing more than a coincidence. And it appeared thanks to the mentor Vesemir. As a young apprentice, Geralt decided to choose the very eccentric name of Geralt Roger Eric du Ho-Bellegarde. Of course, this did not seem quite a good option to the old wolf Vesemir and he offered an alternative - to draw lots. And Geralt, in turn, even learned to imitate the local Rivian accent. Not exactly to maintain the legend, but more to trust it. After all, few people will shake hands with an incomprehensible bandit armed to the tips of his fingers.But in fact, the history of the character is extensive and stretches through many years and passes entire wars. The starting point can be taken as a turning point, when an ordinary boy turned into a formidable monster killer through long, exhausting training and life-threatening mutations.
He spent several years in Kaer Morhen, where he learned the craft. Then he climbed out onto the big and set out on a free voyage. It is not known how many years he worked wandering around the world in search of terrible creatures that came into the world due to the conjugation of the spheres, but by the beginning of the events described in the Sword of Destiny, people who were his friends had already found their place in his life. But is the description reliable? We all know Dandelion's tendency to fantasize. Also important is Nenneke, a priestess of the temple of Melitele, who often healed his wounds after battles. Pretty nurse Shani, whom you have heard a lot about and even seen in the series of games. As well as Triss Merigold, also known as the 14 of the hill. And, of course, the canonical lover is Yennefer. These, as well as many others, are key in the books about The Witcher. It would be stupid and monotonous to describe all their joint moments, and it is much more interesting to learn all the little things from the source, but it is worth noting a few facts.
I think it would be right to mention some events from history, and start with the key moment in the saga, the moment of leverage – purpose. It is the moment when Geralt saves the poor-private Dani, who is actually not quite poor-private, and moreover, not quite Dani, but Yozh. And he does this on the instructions of the Cintra Lioness Calanthe, so that her pretty daughter would spend her life not with a terrible iron wonderful creature, but with a handsome fairy-tale prince.

Plot 5
Geralt of Rivia, a witcher who was actually born far beyond the borders of the mentioned state, did not know his family and spent almost his entire life exterminating reptiles, saving the world and flirting with pretty sorceresses. He often heard flattering compliments from ladies and dirty abuse from disgusting types. He tried to be or even was the embodiment of a reasonable person, because he remained neutral, sitting on top of the fence between two fronts. It is difficult to give a clear definition of the character, moreover, it is not possible to characterize him with only 3 parts of the game, since the philosophy is much deeper and was laid down by the pen of the master.
The story begins with his parents, whom he lost as a child. There is an opinion that his mother was... A sorceress? Not exactly, she was a healer named Visenna. For unclear reasons, she gave the boy, named Geralt, to the witcher school of the Wolf, under the care of Uncle Vesemir. It is a great misconception to believe that he was a child of Surprise. Grelt does not remember her father, and I can even assume that he never knew at all. But the author of the Witcher comics, Maciej Parowski, claims a certain Korin. A hired killer who you will not meet in the original saga, but you can see in the story of Mr. Andrzej Sapkowski "The Road of No Return", where he is, if not the main, then a rather influential character.
In reality, these are just guesses that Sapkowski himself refutes, and which are nothing more than food for discussion. No one has a clue who Geralt's father is, and the author does not specify.
Gwynblade's appearance, as his name sounds in the older speech, is very specific. A strong, well-built body comes with numerous scars, the eyes of either a cat or a snake or a lizard, and even hair that has been sat from the ordeals in Kaer Morhen. But despite this, it is in very good demand among the weaker sex.
Plot 4
Geralt returns in the third and final part of the game series. At the beginning of this adventure, he is unshaven due to his recent wanderings in the wilderness, and the events unfold after the first Nilfgaardian invasion of the Northern Kingdoms.
Diary
entry Many people cannot understand what kind of friendship has been between me, Dandelion, and Geralt of Rivia all these years. When we first started sharing bread together, evil tongues said that it was better for him to slit my throat and throw my body into the hollow of a tree - until I provoked someone to do the same to both of us. These people spoke out of pure jealousy, because Geralt was my dearest friend, and he proved it time and time.
I could tell you a lot about this world-famous monster hunter, a man who is called Gwynblade in the Elder Speech, and the White Wolf in our younger (but no less noble) language. After all, Geralt of Rivia is a truly exceptional person. On the surface, one might think that he was merely a master swordman, a simple monster hunter, a rough craftsman, but look closely, and you will soon discover that he is a man of uncharted depths, unique views, and vast world-spanning experience.
At first glance, he is reserved, taciturn and even rude, but under this shell there is a sea of benevolence, a good sense of humor and a sincere willingness to help friends, whether it is with good advice or mastery of the blade.
Modesty aside, I can say that I know his story better than anyone else. I was with him in both difficult and good times, helped him with wise advice, warm words and a sharp mind. As such, I am an important part of his story, both in its early and modern parts. It is therefore my duty to continue my chronicle and for the sake of future generations to record the next chapter of his deeds and exploits.
Plot 3
In the sequel, Geralt finds himself in the service of King Foltest of Temeria. Soon the king is killed, which leads to a series of events that result in the witcher going along Pontar in search of the assassins of kings.
Journal
entry Behold our hero: As a child, he underwent mutations and underwent severe training in the arts of sword and magic, becoming a superhuman monster slayer. Always penniless and often despised by those he protects, he wanders the world in search of work. Fate is not too favorable to him, putting obstacles in his way, but he continues to move forward. He has more remorse than fleas a beggar vagabond. Doubts haunt him even when a gang of thugs with drawn knives approaches him on the highway. Is he a good person? I don't think so. Is he trying to preserve his humanity? I suppose so.
You should know that Geralt of Rivia has already died once, at least everyone thought he was dead. During the massacre in Rivia, he tried to protect the Inhumans, but the forces were unequal. He was put into a boat and sailed away into the mist, into a realm where he finally found peace. But not for long. Due to circumstances that we will talk about later, Geralt returned just in time to protect the ancient witcher fortress and then went in search of the secrets stolen from it. Along the way, he took part in the Scoia'tael rebellion, defeated a powerful criminal organization, and assassinated the Grand Master of the Order of the Flaming Rose. And all this time his fame as a lover grew. Well, that's Geralt. Moreover, he prevented an assassination attempt on King Foltest of Temeria and became one of the monarch's most trusted confidants.
Biography
Geralt was the son of the sorceress Visenna and (presumably) a warrior named Corin. Soon after his birth, his mother took Geralt to the Wolf School, the fortress of Kaer Morhen (in the Elder Speech, Caer a'Muirehen means "Old Sea Fortress"). Geralt survived the numerous mutations during the Trial of Herbs surprisingly well, as a result of which he acquired almost superhuman physical and mental abilities (improved reflexes, speed, strength, and hearing). Thanks to this, he became one of the few who was selected for additional experiments, and the only one who survived. His white hair, completely devoid of pigment, is a side effect of these experiments. After completing his training as a witcher, he set out on his horse named Roach (he gave this name to each of his horses) to become a mercenary monster slayer.
Although Geralt did not believe in fate, he demanded the unborn child of Princess Pavetta and her husband Dunya as a reward for his services. Since the child turned out to be a girl, he did not take her. However, fate or blind chance brought Geralt and Ciri, the daughter of Dunya and Pavetta together, three times, and after the death of her grandmother, Queen Calanthe, Geralt began to take care of the girl and loved her like his own daughter. His best friend was the bard Dandelion, and his beloved and the love of his life was Yennefer.
Plot 2
Geralt of Rivia is the protagonist in the trilogy of computer games The Witcher, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, created by the Polish studio CD Projekt RED. These games take place after the completion of the book cycle, and they showcase Geralt's further adventures, despite his supposed death in The Lady of the Lake. At the end of the book, Ciri moved Geralt and his beloved Yennefer to the otherworldly "Apple Island". According to the plots of the games, Geralt returned to the world of the living, although he lost his memory; as the games explained, Geralt and Yennefer were found on Apple Island by the Wild Hunt wandering between the worlds.
During The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Geralt managed to fully recover his lost memories and go in search of Yennefer. During the games of the series, Geralt changes - he becomes older and heals mental traumas. According to voice actor Doug Kokle, when working on The Witcher, the developers insisted that Geralt does not feel any emotions at all; however, by the time of the third game, the developers' attitude towards the character was already different: Geralt could already be sentimental and care about the people around him.
Plot
Literary Saga
The events of Crossing of Crows take place in 1229, when Geralt is only eighteen years old, that is, the year of his birth is 1210-1211 - thus, by the end of the book saga in 1268, he was almost sixty years old. The same version was confirmed even earlier by the words of Sapkowski in one of the interviews, according to which the White Wolf at the time of the book "Baptism by Fire" was "over fifty", but the witcher hides his age. The same version was also followed by a widespread fan chronology.
The Road of No Return comic makes it possible to assume with confidence that the birthplace of the future legendary witcher is the vicinity of the Temerian fortress Mayena, where his mother lived and where she met Wolf's father, Corin.
Game series
According to the board game The Witcher: A Game of Imagination, Geralt was born in 1167. Also at the beginning of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Vesemir mentions that Geralt is about a hundred years old. This version probably stems from the fact that Kaer Morhen was destroyed by fanatics at the end of the 12th century, and since the White Wolf was already an adult witcher by that time, his year of birth is no later than 1168.
Swords
Swords from Viroledo
After stealing his original swords during the events of Season of Thunderstorms, Geralt needed a new weapon. The first sword from Viroledo was bought to the witcher by Dandelion, but it turned out to be a fake and broke when one of the mercenaries who captured the White Wolf tried to use it in a training sparring.
The second sword from Viroledo, this time authentic, was given to the witcher by the magician Pinetti. This blade had a lizard skin hilt, an inch above the guard was a sun-shaped brand with sixteen rays, alternately straight and wavy, symbolizing sunlight and warmth in heraldry. Two inches above the sun, an inscription engraved in a beautifully stylized font began - the famous motto of the master: "Do not take it out without a reason, do not put it without glory." With this blade, Geralt fought with Sorel Degerlund and his henchmen. The sword was stolen after the tsunami that devastated Kerak, and the witcher soon regained his original swords.
Sword from Brokilon
Geralt retrieves a new sword in Brokilon in the catacombs on Kraag Ana after destroying his original steel sword during a duel with Vilgefortz on Thanedda and subsequent treatment by the dryads. The blade of this ancient weapon was forged and honed in Mahakam, while the hilt, guard, head, and engraving were made by the elves. According to the dwarf Percival Schuttenbach, these weapons were made of second-rate steel and using now obsolete technology. Geralt lost this sword after being captured by the former Cintra Marshal Vissegerd and escaping from the camp of his troops with the help of Regis.
Mahakam Rune Sigil
Geralt receives the last sword used on the pages of the books from the dwarven mercenary Zoltan Khivai. This blade was a first-class weapon, forged in Rundurin's own forge: about 40 inches (1.02 m) long and weighing 35 ounces (1.09 kg), covered with mysterious runic writings along a considerable length of the bluish blade, incredibly sharp, so sharp that "with a certain skill it could be shaved." The engraving on the blade was made with ancient dwarven runes and read: "To the death of the!" It had a 12-inch (30.4 cm) handle with a cylindrical brass clamp instead of a head and a small, expertly crafted guard.
Mahakam Rune Sigil,
Mahakam Rune Sigil, Gwent: The Witcher. The card game
Percival Schuttenbach spoke extremely enthusiastically about this sword, saying that the blade of this sword was made according to modern methods: the soft multi-layered core was bound with hard steel (for comparison, the Brokilon sword was made the other way around - a hard core bound with soft steel), which can only be sharpened by dwarves using perfect technology so that the sword can cut a tossed cambric handkerchief, although Zoltan's sigille is such a trick It was impossible to do it[12]. The sword apparently had magical properties, since in the battle with Vilgefortz, Geralt managed to deflect the sorcerer's stream of magical fire with the blade.
It was the sword that Geralt had used for the last two books, and used it to hunt monsters during his stay in Toussaint, and it was also used to fight Vilgefortz in Stigg Castle. In addition, Geralt used the sigille when rescuing his dwarven friends and other Inhumans during the pogrom in Rivia, but the further fate of the weapon is unknown.
However, judging by the cutscenes in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, the blade came with its master to Apple Island and was lost by him before the witcher became a rider of the Wild Hunt. However, in the same game, Zoltan Hivai is armed with a sigille - this suggests that Zoltan took his sword after the pogrom in Rivia.
Swords
Since the beginning of the saga, Geralt of Rivia has been using two swords - steel and silver. The witcher received both of his blades after training in Kaer Morhen and used them for many years. Geralt mentions that his swords were specially made and fitted to him. He could use only silver, but in view of the constantly depicted high cost of performing the witcher's craft, the reason is quite obvious - Geralt cannot afford to constantly use expensive silver against those who are satisfied with simple steel. Despite the widespread belief among the common people that the steel sword is against humans (although the witcher sometimes uses steel against humans and there are enough witnesses to this), and the silver sword against monsters, both swords are designed to fight monsters, depending on their vulnerabilities.

The steel sword was forged and sharpened in the dwarven workshops in Mahakam from siderite ore obtained from a meteorite, the total length is 40.5 inches (1.03 m), the length of the blade is 27.25 inches (0.69 m), the weight is 37 ounces (1.15 kg), perfectly balanced: the weight of the blade is exactly equal to the weight of the hilt, the hilt and guard are made simply, but elegantly, the head is spherical in shape. The sword was also covered in protective magic runes and could nullify the energy of spells. The scabbard of the sword was made of lizard skin.[14] Geralt mentions that it was a first-class sword and that it could be used to cut a tossed cambric handkerchief on the fly.
The silver sword had the same length and weight as the steel sword, but was somewhat thinner due to the greater density of silver. It was only partially silver—pure silver was too soft to be sharpened well, so the steel core was bound by an alloy of silver and steel. This beautiful and elegant sword had a cross guard,[14] a shiny patterned hilt cup[14] made of white metal,[14] a black fluted[14] well-balanced hilt,[14] and runic signs and symbols engraved on the guard and along the length of the blade, forming an ancient witcher motto: "Dubhenn haern am glandeal, morcham am fhean aiesin" — "My brilliance will cut through the darkness, my light will dispel the gloom." The black scabbard of this sword was covered with enamel.[14]
In games, to quickly distinguish which sword is being used, the guard of a silver sword is usually made offensive, that is, in the form of a crosspiece, the side legs of which point towards the blade, which resembles the guard of the Scottish claymore sword.
Geralt lost both of his swords on the ill-fated night of the Thanedd Rebellion: the steel one was broken in a duel with Vilgefortz, while the silver one, after the wounded Geralt's teleportation to Brokilon, remained in Gors Velen along with his chest of elixirs.
Personal data
According to Dandelion's description, Geralt is a complete contradiction: despite the relatively high fees for the murdered monsters, he always has no money; despite maintaining neutrality, he is always in the thick of events and intrigues; In spite of his unsightly appearance, ragged clothes, and bad temper, he invariably enjoys almost supernatural success with the opposite sex; Despite all attempts to avoid bloodshed and generally non-confrontational character, he is a professional and very skilled killer who is constantly forced to use his sword for its intended purpose.
"Ah, my friend, the genetic vagabond to whom Tissaia de Vries smiles. You are my friend, a witcher, a bruiser who attracts Philippa Eilhart so much that her hands are shaking. An ignoramus who makes Triss Merigold redder than a poppy at the very thought of him. I'm not talking about Yennefer."
— Vilgefortz in conversation with Geralt
In the course of the plot of the saga and the author's thought, and subsequently the further story in the games, Geralt underwent minor character changes, being an almost "invulnerable" character in the first books and appearing in a much more "humanized", emotional form in the last works. For example, in the story "The Voice of Reason" Geralt appears somewhat arrogant and absolutely invincible, while in "Baptism of Fire" he demonstrates "moral bankruptcy", powerlessness and despair, in "The Tower of the Swallow" he is betrayed by his restraint and prudence when he impulsively accuses Kagyr of betrayal.
Personal data
In order to build a reputation as an invincible monster hunter and to avoid weaknesses associated with the manifestation of feelings, Geralt developed the habit of not showing any emotions, being secretive, looking completely unfazed, speaking rarely and in a monotone voice. He justifies his calmness with witcher mutations, which supposedly "burn out" the emotions of the monster hunter candidate. In addition, in his decisions, the White Wolf hides behind a non-existent witcher code, which he invented for himself, for about the same reason that he calls himself a native of Rivia - people are more willing to trust a person who obeys a certain creed with their lives and their wallets. Despite the lack of a guild set of rules, Geralt nevertheless follows a fairly extensive number of his own moral norms and attitudes. For example, he is not a mercenary and would never accept an order to overthrow a ruler and organize a coup d'état.
"… stuffed with principles, like a fox coat with fleas..."
— Gillenstern
Trying not to get into any trouble and to remain neutral in everything, Geralt, however, often finds himself caught between two fires and is forced to choose sides in the brewing clashes. In general, he avoids any conflicts, and if a fight is brewing, the witcher, as a rule, does everything to avoid bloodshed. After all, the one who meets in battle with the White Wolf in the overwhelming majority of cases does not survive. Nevertheless, having a keen sense of justice and compassion for people, Geralt often stands up for the weak and disadvantaged, which often backfires on him.
"… the man you sent is no more cheerful than a hoe handle..."
— Witold von Everec in a letter to his brother
Personal data
Evil is evil... Smaller, larger, average – it doesn't matter, the proportions are conditional, and the boundaries are blurred. I am not a holy hermit, I did not do only one good thing in life. But if I have to choose between one evil and another, I prefer not to choose at all."
"Geralt of Rivia
Geralt has a very remarkable, albeit extremely obnoxious character. The years spent on the highway among various kinds and degrees of marginal personalities, wandering around the world, countless fights and scrapes developed in him a number of qualities that, during his adventures, allowed him to survive and emerge as a relative winner from any situation. The main character traits of the witcher are: restraint, taciturnity, straightforwardness, honesty, eloquence, curiosity, prudence, secrecy, moderation in everything, the ability not to lose self-control in any situation and adapt to any conditions due to "innate opportunism".
"It's Geralt, the witcher or the sullen poet, depending on whether you have monsters or beer on hand."
— Addarion Bach[13]
At the same time, Geralt is experienced and practical, unpretentious and independent, and has always been an introvert. In addition, he is distinguished by the strongest humanism, although he has no illusions about the structure of the world and its inhabitants and is not naïve. Geralt is prone to vagrancy and is not able to live in one place for a long time, which is due to both character traits and lifestyle, but at the same time he highly appreciates home and amenities, not giving them up when possible. The White Wolf is quick-witted, reasonable and, as a rule, is able to make balanced and thoughtful decisions. Nevertheless, despite all his foresight and a certain degree of wisdom, the witcher is sharp-tongued, rude, sarcastic and generally has a specific sense of humor. Geralt laughs sincerely and uncontrollably very rarely.
Cloth
White Wolf wears mid-thigh black leather jackets covered with silver studs on his shoulders and cuffs, and wears high boots, usually with a dagger behind his bootleg. Before fighting, he wears long gloves with spikes on the knuckles and, like his jacket, lined with silver studs. Depending on the weather conditions, the White Wolf wears a woolen cloak.
Dandelion mentions[11] that Geralt often walks around in sheer rags, apparently due to a lack of money or a disregard for his own appearance. The hunter wears a silver medallion around his neck in the shape of a grinning wolf's head on a silver chain, a sign of belonging to the witcher guild. On his back, on a strap that crosses his chest, Geralt carries a sword (one in the books, changing the steel one for silver in different situations, two in games and in the book "Season of Thunderstorms").
After the Thanedd Rebellion, Geralt spends some time with the dryads in Brokilon and receives new elven clothing from them - a swamp jacket with leafy motifs and a gray cloak. Subsequently, he changed into his usual leather jacket shortly after arriving in Toussaint.
In the games, Geralt has the opportunity to dress in a huge variety of jackets and doublets, from ordinary leather jackets to armor of elves from another world, famous commanders and traditional armor sets from different witcher schools.
Scars Two
Particularly noticeable scars on the body are:
Geralt's scars in the game
Geralt's scars in the game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
a bite scar inflicted by a humanoid creature on the left trapezius muscle;
a deep elongated scar in the left upper part of the chest;
a large ugly scar in the form of an unequal star on the right side of the chest;
three small but deep round scars on his chest and stomach from a pitchfork blow inflicted by Rob;
parallel scars from four claws in the left lower abdomen and on the side;
Parallel scars from three claws in the lower left chest, on the inside of the left forearm, and three huge oblique claw scars all over the back.
It should be noted that in the first part of the game, Geralt did not have scars on his body at all, as he wore a shirt, and the model of the White Wolf with scars was added in the second part of the game. In the third part, the scars were smoothed and discolored, and therefore became less noticeable. In Hearts of Stone, Shani mentions that between 1271 and 1272, Geralt had 27 scars.
Scars
This witcher's body is covered with scars from injuries received in battles with monsters and humans. In the literary saga, several specific wounds are mentioned, and, accordingly, scars:
Geralt for the comic strip ""Geralt for the comic strip "Blood
of Elves"
Geralt received a scar on his neck from a striga during the events of the story "The Witcher";
the scar crossing the chest is mentioned by Yennefer in the story "The Last Wish", asking if the witcher was hit by a saw at the sawmill;
a scar on his left forearm, reaching up to the elbow, was received by Geralt in a fight with fish-men during the events of the story "A Little Sacrifice";
Geralt received a scar on his thigh when attacked by nakers during the events of the story "Something More";
Geralt received a scar on his shoulder in a fight with the Michele brothers during the events of the book "Blood of Elves";
Geralt has his ear ripped off with a crossbow bolt during the events of The Tower of the Swallow, although it is very likely that the ear was restored by the magic of Fringilla Vigo;
the last scar (or rather, three separate scars) on Geralt's chest came from a pitchfork blow inflicted on the witcher by Rob during the events of Lady of the Lake.
In the games, Geralt has several scars on his face:
one of them almost vertically crosses his forehead, left eyebrow, eye and goes down to his cheek[9];
horizontal scar above the right eyebrow;
an oblique scar in the upper part of the nose;
A vertical scar parallel to the nose line to the right of it.
in Hearts of Stone, Gunther o'Dimm magically burns a sign in the form of two separate runes on Geralt's left temple, symbolizing their cooperation; after the contract is fulfilled, Gunther removes this mark.
Appearance
Eralt is described as a tall, thin, slender, unnaturally pale "neither young nor old" man with completely milk-gray hair, in books intercepted on his forehead by a leather bandage, in games gathered in a high ponytail at the back of his head. He also has yellow phosphorescent eyes with vertical pupils. The magician Pinetti writes in one of his letters to Coral[6] that Geralt has unkempt nails, which is not surprising in such a lifestyle. Yennefer describes him as peculiarly handsome, but many other characters in the saga say that Geralt's face is unpleasant. Triss Merigold mentally describes the witcher's face as "tormented, emaciated, and wrinkled", and the eyes as "all-seeing, sick, and having seen too much".
In the books, the White Wolf does not usually wear a beard, although he cannot help but have short, several days of stubble on his face, since he does not have the opportunity and desire to shave daily. In the first and second parts of the game series, Geralt's face is clean-shaven, in the third part, the witcher can wear a beard that grows in real time. This fact can be commented on by Yennefer, who asks Geralt why he suddenly decided to grow a beard, and after receiving an incomprehensible answer, the sorceress notes that it suits the witcher[8].
Character
Geralt of Rivia (originally Geralt z Rivii), nicknamed the White Wolf and the Butcher of Blaviken, is the main character of the literary saga and comics, as well as the protagonist of subsequent computer games, a witcher from the School of the Wolf, a professional monster hunter, one of the best swordsmen in the North, a hero of tales and legends and an involuntary bodyguard of kings.
He has a romantic interest in two sorceresses: Yennefer of Vengerberg and Triss Merigold. His best friends, besides the witchers from his school, are a bard named Dandelion, the dwarf Zoltan Chivay and the higher vampire Emiel Regis, and during his travels during the Second Northern War, a group of comrades called the "Hanse" formed around the White Wolf.
