❆ Arcticed is an indie interactive text horror game (Visual Novel) with dating sim (Otome) elements, created by developer Pipalapeda for the Winter Visual Novel Jam 2025 competition.

The events unfold in a cold, snowy world. A terrible winter storm once again strikes the main character's (or heroine's—the player assumes the role of "Y/N" or "Your Name") settlement. According to ancient tradition, to appease the elements, the inhabitants must make a sacrifice to the powerful Arctic Demon. This time, the fate falls on the main character—they are left to be devoured by the beast, making them the demon's rightful prey.

The central character that attracts the attention of players is Naku, the same Arctic Demon.
Appearance: He has an attractive yet intimidating fantasy appearance. He has long white or purple hair, horns, and often wears a warm fur coat. Personality: Naku combines the traits of a manipulator, a possessive person, and a yandere. He is narcissistic and enjoys being admired or having his ego stroked, but can also display unexpected care and jealousy toward his "prey."

Choice Mechanics: Gameplay is based on reading dialogue and making decisions. When communicating with Naku, the player can try to appease him, be rude, or obey. The player's answers determine the demon's reaction (he has a variety of detailed emotions rendered in sprites) and the story's ending. Connections to Other Games: Developer Pipalapeda is also known for another popular novel, Kingdom of Marionettes (featuring the character Jestyn). The community highly appreciates the author's unique artistic style.

Eyes: White, black pupils (depending on gender, females have eyelashes, fanon)

Belt and Hem: A wide brown leather belt cinches the waist. Below the belt is a decorative hem (similar to a loincloth or a conical skirt) of blue with vertical white stripes and wide fluffy white fur along the edge. Pants and Shoes: He wears brown pants (probably warm). On her feet are blue torbasa boots with crisscross lacing around the ankles and a fur trim at the top. Accessories: Around her neck hangs a multi-layered ethnic-style necklace consisting of round dark beads with long white fangs or animal claws attached to them. Mittens: On her hands are thick, warm gray mittens with no separation of the fingers.
