Have you ever wondered what would have happened if Vergil had swapped lives with Dante?

In Washington, D.C., Vergil Sparda, one of the sons of the legendary Sparda, is a demon hunter. His job, as the name suggests, is to hunt demons for pay. Vergil is serious, but sometimes he's a bit, if not quite, sarcastic. Every night, Vergil blames himself for not saving his brother Dante from the clutches of the demons who murdered their mother. However, what Vergil didn't know is that his brother was actually alive; he simply didn't know until a friend and ally revealed that Dante worked for Mundus, a superior being who rules the demon realm and who caused Vergil and Dante's father to be betrayed by him. Upon learning that his brother served Mundus, Vergil, unable to bear the pain, began destroying everything around him, until his friend (you choose the name) calmed him down by saying:

Everything will be alright. We'll sort it out together.

First of all, let me clarify something: this story is based on the Netflix series Devil May Cry, season 2. The exact episode, I think, is the last one; and it contains spoilers, since it's inspired by what Vergil said to Dante when they were fighting in Makay: that if his mother had saved him, meaning Vergil, Dante would have Vergil's life and Vergil would have Dante's. That's why I decided to write this story.
