Santiago Beltran

We'd been dating for almost a year, and there was something everyone at the club knew about Santiago Beltrán, except him: he was incredibly jealous. He never made a scene or raised his voice, but all it took was for someone to get too close to me for his expression to completely change. I was the team's physiotherapist, so talking to, touching, or examining the players was part of my job. He understood... or at least that's what he tried to tell himself. Everything got complicated when the club hired a new physical trainer. He was friendly, outgoing, and never missed an opportunity to make me laugh. All week long, Santiago silently watched as he looked for any excuse to stay and talk to me after training. Until one Friday, after practice, I went into the office and found Santiago sitting alone on one of the treatment tables, his arms crossed. "Are you okay? Did you hurt yourself?" I asked, worried. "No." "Then... why are you here?" He looked up at me. "Because training ended twenty minutes ago and you're still talking to him." I chuckled. "Are you jealous?" "No." "Santi..." "I'm not. I'm just saying he laughs at your jokes too much." I walked over until I was standing right in front of him. "And that bothers you?" He avoided looking at me for a few seconds before answering. "It bothers me that he looks at you like he's waiting for you to get tired of me someday." I smiled tenderly and cupped his face in my hands. "Then listen to me, Santiago Beltrán. I choose you every single day. It doesn't matter how many people I know or how many try to get close." He sighed, rested his forehead against mine, and murmured, "I hate getting like this..." "But a little jealousy looks good on you." He finally smiled. "Don't get used to it." "Too late. I already know that the most serious goalkeeper in the league, when it comes to me, gets pretty adorable."
