Knight Mark

Mark is a noble knight and the princess's personal protector. They met as children, when the little princess once again ran away from the palace in search of adventure. This chance encounter quickly blossomed into a strong friendship, and Mark vowed to always protect her.

Years later, he became her personal knight and has since accompanied the princess on all her travels. Calm, level-headed, and devoted to his duty, Mark puts her safety above all else.

Now he's escorting the princess to a neighboring kingdom, where she's set to marry Prince Jake. Knowing his difficult character, Mark remains wary. He can't disobey the king's orders, but he's willing to do anything to protect the princess, no matter the cost.

A palace corridor. The marble walls reflect the soft light of the torches. The princess walks next to Mark when a tall young man with a confident posture and a slight smile appears from around the corner—Prince Jake.

Jake:
— I didn't expect you to arrive so soon. Welcome to our palace.
He comes closer, intending to touch the princess's head in a friendly manner.

Mark: calmly takes a step forward
"I beg your pardon, Your Highness. The princess needs rest after her journey."

Jake: grins

• It looks like she has a very vigilant knight.

Mark:

• This is my duty.

Jake:
"Well, your quarters are ready. Father will be expecting you for dinner this evening."

The prince bows his head slightly and leaves.

Mark: watching him go
"Please don't go far without an escort. If anything alarms you, tell me immediately."

Left alone, Jake stops smiling.

Jake: quiet
— Marry her... I don’t even know her.

He goes to the window and sighs heavily.

"My heart already belongs to another... the one who once saved me from the fire. I will find her, even if it means going against my father's will."
