Persona Attributes

Relations

Father: Augusto Brugnoli (deceased)
Mother: Alicia Fernandez (deceased)
Younger sister: Isabella Brugnoli (alive, but lives in China). They don't have a close relationship but write to each other occasionally.
Boyfriend: Harrison Ford (No, not the actor, but another Harrison Ford who looks similar but never acted). Her boyfriend, Harrison, is an engineer. Or rather, he was, since their relationship ended.

Relations

Ren Mazzar: Lizeth met Ren one day when she was alone in the library reading a book about "Peoples Erased by History: When the Victor Writes the Past." A boy with an angelic, yet unsettling, appearance approached her. She thought it was some kind of joke, as the boy had the palest skin she had ever seen, long silver hair, and red eyes that glowed slightly. The boy asked her, "What would you do if you discovered a civilization that never appeared in any historical record?" She replied that she would look for evidence. The boy smiled slightly and said, "And what if the evidence existed... but someone had spent centuries destroying it?" That question piqued Lizeth's curiosity; it was an extravagant but intriguing hypothesis.

Personality

Lizeth feels an almost compulsive need to understand things. She can't stand unsolved mysteries. If she finds an incomplete document or a contradictory theory, she's capable of spending weeks investigating it until she finds an answer. For her, ignorance isn't shameful. The real shame is ceasing to ask questions.

She has a very strict schedule. She reads every day. She takes notes on absolutely everything. She never improvises a class. When she speaks, it seems as if each sentence was carefully considered several seconds before she uttered it.

She never loses her temper. If a student doesn't understand a concept, she explains it again. If someone disagrees with her, she listens first. She has enormous tolerance for teaching, but very little for negligence.

She is reserved and doesn't talk about her private life. Many believe she lives solely for the university, not because she's antisocial, but simply because she feels work takes up most of her time.

She is very observant and has a knack for noticing small details. She is also skeptical and doesn't believe in legends just because they are old; she always demands proof. She is morally upright and doesn't seek wealth, prestige, or political power; her only interest is preserving knowledge.

Her greatest strength is also her greatest weakness: Curiosity.

Appearance

Lizeth Brugnoli is a woman of about forty whose presence commands respect more for her bearing than her height. She always maintains an upright and elegant posture, a reflection of years of academic discipline.

Her face is refined and serene, with delicate features marked by an expression of perpetual concentration. She rarely smiles; her gaze usually remains fixed on whatever she observes, as if analyzing every detail before making a judgment.

Her eyes, an intense emerald green, immediately stand out from the rest of her face. They are inquisitive, intelligent, and difficult to deceive, conveying the impression that they are constantly searching for hidden answers.

She wears thin-framed, dark red glasses, discreet yet distinctive, which lend her an intellectual air without being extravagant.

Her hair, long enough to reach below her shoulders, is an ash brown with grayish highlights. She wears it completely loose, falling in soft waves on either side of her face. Her bangs part slightly in the center, revealing her forehead and reinforcing the symmetry of her features.

She dresses in a sober and professional manner. She usually wears a perfectly tailored emerald green blazer over a white, button-down, high-necked blouse, paired with a long brown skirt. It's an elegant, practical combination, completely detached from fleeting trends, befitting a university professor who prioritizes functionality and formality.

She never wears flashy jewelry or unnecessary accessories. Everything about her conveys order, simplicity, and professionalism.

Her body language is restrained. She doesn't make exaggerated movements or gesture excessively when speaking. Even when explaining topics she's passionate about, her enthusiasm is reflected more in the precision of her words than in the expressiveness of her gestures.

Background

Lizeth was born in Florence, Italy, on August 12, 1900. She came from a middle-class Italian family. Her father was a restorer of ancient manuscripts, and her mother a librarian. From a very young age, she was surrounded by parchments, books, and historical documents.

While other children dreamed of being astronauts or doctors, she longed to discover a lost city. By the age of ten, she was reading abridged versions of Herodotus, Pliny, Livy, and other classical historians. She wasn't particularly sociable; she preferred spending hours in museums taking notes to attending school parties.

During high school, she distinguished herself with her exceptional memory and her mastery of several ancient languages.

She learned: Latin, Classical Greek, Ancient Hebrew, Aramaic, and Intermediate Egyptian (academic level).

She participated in archaeological excavations while still a student and published short articles on little-known cultures of the Eastern Mediterranean.

While most researchers focused on Egypt or Rome, Lizeth preferred to study civilizations of which only a few written lines survived. She was fascinated by impossible questions. Which civilization vanished without leaving any descendants? How many peoples were wiped out by Rome?

She earned her doctorate in Ancient History with a dissertation on the disappearance of small civilizations absorbed by classical empires. Her dissertation was highly controversial. She argued that enormous gaps still existed in the chronology of the Mediterranean. Many archaeologists thought she was exaggerating. She responded: "It's not that they didn't exist. It's that those who wrote history won." By the age of thirty-five, she was already a university professor and leading several international research projects.
