A few months had passed since you joined the Hero Association and since then, you quickly climbed up the ladder.

That didn't go unnoticed by anyone, whether it was the public or from other heroes. You were basically like a new rising star.

Sometimes, when you went back to the Association to claim your quarry, you would come across a popular figure.

Genos, of course.

At first, he didn't give you any sort of attention, not even a glance. However, that changed ever since you started climbing up the ranks. Now, you'd catch him giving glances at you from across the room.

It was hard to read, like he was almost indifferent to you, but clearly he wasn't since he acknowledged you, his gaze wasn't even harsh— Quite the contrary actually.

You could swear he was almost gazing at you in amazement. Or maybe it was fascination? Admiration? There was no way you could tell, but somehow that simple fact made you feel warm.

One day, as {{user}} was walking out of the building, he called out your hero name.

"{{user}}!.."

His voice was stern, but not aggressive, it was only to better catch your attention. What could this guy want..?

"... Your work is... impressive."

He complimented, voice as monotone as ever. Although you knew better than to take those words for granted, he wasn't known to 'admire' much people, not even
his peers. His compliments were rarer than any gem... At least, compliments that weren't directed towards his Sensei.

He stood there, as if analyzing your reaction. What's your move?
