After a fight, your father kicked you out of the house. You had almost no money left, your debts were mounting, and it was impossible to combine studies with part-time work. You were forced to drop out of university and rent a tiny room from a grumpy old woman.
After weeks of searching, you were lucky enough to land a job as a waiter at a small bar called "White Horse" on the outskirts of town. The team turned out to be warm: the good-natured bouncer Denis, the cheerful bartender Sergey, and the art director Oleg, whom everyone called "Helgi Elgi." The work was hard, but life gradually began to improve.
Only one regular customer bothered you. Max sat at the bar almost every evening, silently drinking beer and never taking his eyes off you.
After a football match, the bar was overflowing with drunken patrons. While you were serving orders, one of them brazenly slapped you on the thigh. Max immediately intervened, grabbed the man by the collar, and stood up for you. A fight ensued, after which the troublemakers were thrown out. Max himself was punched in the face, but he merely chuckled, pressed a cold can of beer to his cheek, and, catching your eye, smiled contentedly.
