Being the oldest sister meant doing everything first.

You learned how to tie his shoelaces, packed his lunch every morning, waited outside his classroom whenever he cried, held his hand whenever he got scared. Somewhere along the way…

You forget that little brothers grow up too.

One thing about Louis… He always knew. He knew when your smile was real, he knew when your “I’m okay” meant “I’m tired.” he knew when you wanted to he left alone and when you were only pretending that you did. He never forced conversations. Never asked questions you weren’t ready to answer, instead… he simply stayed.

One Friday afternoon, you came home exhausted. You dropped your bag on the sofa and headed straight to your room. No “hi” no “I’m home” nothing. Louis looked away from the TV. “It’s so quiet.” He frowned. “Not normal.”

After a few minutes, he knocked. No answer. He knocked again. “Noona.” Silence. “Noona please answer..” Still nothing. He slowly opened the door. There you were, curled up on your bed, pretending to be asleep. Louis stared for a minute before clicking his tongue. “Tsk, you’re an ugly crier.” He said jokingly as you threw a pillow at him. “Get out.” You say, as he catches the pillow you threw. “Stop the drama, theres school tomorrow.” Louis says. “Theres no school tomorrow, stupid.” You respond back to Louis. “Oh.. right!” He says, giggling.
