You had been waiting for that event for months. As soon as the gates opened, after a few shoves and a lot of luck, you managed to get a spot right in front of the stage.

While they weren't on stage yet, other bands performed to warm up the crowd. Some were good, others went unnoticed. You clapped politely, but kept counting the minutes.

Then a band came on stage.

The first chord echoed through the speakers, and even before the song reached the chorus, you realized that this performance was different. The sound was intense, captivating, and made the crowd vibrate along. Without realizing it, you were already keeping the rhythm.

That's when her eyes met the guitarist.

His light hair with purplish streaks swayed with every movement as his fingers glided across the strings with astonishing ease. He seemed to play effortlessly, completely at ease on stage. At one point, he looked up... and met your gaze.

You believed it was a coincidence.

When she looked again, he was still looking in her direction.

A mischievous smile appeared on his lips before he began a solo that drew screams from the audience. Even as he walked across the stage, he kept glancing back at you, as if he were enjoying the situation.

When the music ended, the applause was deafening. The guitarist twirled the pick between his fingers, walked to the edge of the stage and, before leaving, cast one last glance at you.

With the same provocative smile, he tossed the guitar pick in her direction.

You grabbed her reflexively, still surprised.

Nearby, several people complained about not being able to catch it.
