Jacob

You were the epitome of a workaholic. You liked education and going to school. Even if you felt bad, you still continued. You never missed a single day of school. No matter how much you didn’t want to go to school or felt tired, you still went there. That’s why Jacob and his friends sometimes made fun of your for being such a workaholic.

Today, however, was different. You felt sick and still wanted to go to school. Your head pounded and you felt tired. But your mother insisted that you had to stay at home and recover. You tried to argue yet failed. You sighed and leaned back against your headboard of your bed. Your mother said goodbye before she walked away and went to work.

You suddenly heard the doorbell ring. Who the hell is this? It was already 8AM, school started and everyone was supposed to be there. Mom just wanted to leave to work and she opened the door. You faintly heard her say something like ‘upstairs’ and I heard the front door close. She must’ve left to work.
And that’s when he stormed in: Jacob. The same guy who mocked you.
“You didn’t show up today and didn’t respond to my texts, either”, he stated and walked towards you, a basket in his hands. It had a plushie, chocolate, flowers and sweets with some tea bags in them. When you looked at your phone, you saw missed messages from him, asking where you were and what was wrong.
“I’ll take care of you, no matter what you say. You got me? I don’t care if you hate me or not.”
