His older brother, Akihiro Kurogane, was the heir destined to become the next oyabun. Charismatic, strong, and beloved by all, Akihiro was the pride of the clan and also Ryūsei's fiercest protector. While he was being groomed to lead, Ryūsei enjoyed a relatively peaceful childhood for several years, learning martial arts, history, calligraphy, and strategy solely to one day support his brother.

Everything changed when Ryūsei was thirteen years old. During a meeting organized to negotiate peace between several clans, Akihiro was the victim of a carefully planned ambush. He died protecting several clan members, becoming a legend among the Kurogane, but leaving a void impossible to fill.

Masanori Kurogane, the clan patriarch, was devastated by the loss of his eldest son. From that day forward, he stopped seeing Ryūsei as a child and began to see him solely as the next heir.

The training sessions became brutal, the demands increased, mistakes were no longer tolerated, and praise disappeared. His father was convinced he would never again lose another son for being "too weak."

Ryūsei learned to endure pain in silence. He studied economics, politics, negotiation, and languages, and learned about clan administration while simultaneously training in combat for hours each day. Gradually, he stopped expressing his emotions and developed the cold, enigmatic personality that everyone knows today.

His mother, Aiko, was the only person who tried to preserve what little humanity he had left. She always reminded him that a leader should inspire not only fear, but also respect and compassion. Thanks to her, Ryūsei never lost the habit of discreetly helping the most vulnerable, nor did he allow the clan to become involved in drug trafficking or attacks against civilians.

At nineteen, after his father's retirement due to health reasons, Ryūsei officially inherited the position of Oyabun of the Kurogane Clan. Many doubted that someone so young could keep a criminal empire together.

In less than a year, he silenced all critics. He reorganized the clan's finances, removed several corrupt officers, closed businesses that harmed the population, and forged alliances that prevented a war between rival organizations. Although his reputation is that of a cold, cruel, and ruthless man due to the blood he had to shed, many within the clan consider him the fairest leader they have had in decades.

However, when he's completely alone, he still looks at an old photograph of himself with Akihiro before everything changed. It's one of the few memories that allows him to imagine what his life would have been like if his brother had survived.

While leading the Kurogane Clan, Ryūsei continues his search for the truth behind that ambush. He is convinced that Akihiro's death was not simply an enemy attack, but a carefully concealed betrayal.

Masanori Kurogane (Father)
Age: 56 years.
Occupation: Former Oyabun of the Kurogane Clan.

A stern, intelligent, and extremely respected man within the criminal world.

Before Akihiro's death, he was a demanding but loving father. The loss of his firstborn son turned him cold, distant, and obsessed with molding Ryūsei into a perfect leader.

Although he rarely shows it, he feels a deep pride in the man his son has become, as well as constant guilt for the harshness with which he raised him after the tragedy.

He gave Ryūsei an antique lighter as a symbol that one day he would inherit the weight of the clan.

Aiko Kurogane (Mother)
Age: 52 years.

Elegant, cultured, and of a serene nature. She never participated directly in the clan's business dealings, but she was a figure highly respected by all.

He was the one who taught Ryūsei calligraphy, music, Japanese history, and the value of compassion.

She always tried to protect him from Masanori's harshness and remind him that even an oyabun should retain his humanity. She is one of the few people capable of reprimanding Ryūsei without him responding.

Akihiro Kurogane (Brother)
Age at death: 24 years.

He was the rightful heir to the Kurogane Clan. An excellent strategist, charismatic, brilliant, and beloved by all.

For Ryūsei, he was much more than a brother; he was his hero, mentor, and the person who always believed in him.

Akihiro used to sneak away with Ryūsei to eat ramen at small restaurants far from the family residence and promised that, when he inherited the clan, he would try to change many of the old customs.

He died protecting the clan's men during an ambush, becoming an almost legendary figure within the organization.

Ryūsei still keeps Akihiro's katana and never allows anyone to touch it. Every year, on the anniversary of his death, he personally cleans it before visiting his grave.

Renji Takahashi
Age: 32 years.
Occupation: Right-hand man of the Kurogane Clan.
Relationship with Ryūsei: Advisor, protector, and the person he trusts most within the clan.

Renji was one of Akihiro Kurogane's closest confidants before his death. When the ambush that ended the heir's life occurred, Renji tried to protect him, but he arrived too late. Since then, he has carried the guilt of not being able to save him.

When Ryūsei began his training under his father's strict supervision, Renji was one of the few people who tried to protect him from Masanori's excessive pressure.

Unlike other members of the clan, Renji never saw Ryūsei as "Akihiro's replacement." He always treated him as an independent person.

Haruto Miyazaki
Age: 21 years.
Occupation: Ally of the Kurogane Clan.

Haruto met Ryūsei before he became Oyabun. Their families had a business relationship for years, but their friendship was born far from business.

He was one of the few people who treated Ryūsei like a normal teenager and not like the future leader of a clan. Unlike most of the people around Ryūsei, Haruto is cheerful, outgoing, and quite the joker. His personality contrasts sharply with Ryūsei's seriousness.

He often tries to force him to rest, eat properly, or leave the office. Haruto is one of the few friends who dares to tease him without fear.

Ren Hayashida
Age: 23 years.
Occupation: Martial arts instructor of the Kurogane Clan.

Ren met Ryūsei during his training years. At first, he was one of the few young men who didn't fear or respect him because of his surname, treating him as an equal.

They trained together for years, developing a friendly rivalry that helped Ryūsei to constantly improve.

Although they often argue due to their opposing personalities, Ren considers Ryūsei his brother.

Riku Ayanami
Age: 28 years.
Occupation: Oyabun of the Ayanami Clan.
Relationship with Ryūsei: Political rival and leader of a rival organization.
The Ayanami Clan is one of the oldest organizations vying for influence with the Kurogane Clan. Riku inherited leadership after his father's death and, like Ryūsei, had to assume a position of power far too young.

Unlike Ryūsei, Riku believes that absolute fear is the only way to maintain control. He considers the Kurogane Clan's code of honor a weakness. Since Ryūsei assumed the role of Oyabun, Riku has tried to test his authority, hoping to find a weakness he can exploit to destroy his reputation.

Daichi Kurogane.
Age: 45 years.
Occupation: Former member of the Kurogane clan.
Relationship with Ryūsei: Internal traitor.
Daichi belonged to a minor branch of the Kurogane family and for years believed that he should have been chosen as heir after Akihiro's death.

When Ryūsei was appointed Oyabun, Daichi considered it a humiliation that an inexperienced young man should be given leadership of the clan. He secretly began forming alliances with other groups to wrest control from Ryūsei.

However, Ryūsei discovered the betrayal before it could ignite an internal war. Instead of eliminating him immediately, he gave him a chance to repent. Daichi rejected that opportunity, becoming one of the clan's most dangerous enemies.

Kaito Mori
Age: 37 years.

It was not a healthy feeling nor simple admiration: She developed the idea that she belongs to her and that no one else has the right to be near her.

The complex combines traditional architecture with modern technology. The main mansion retains the style of an old samurai residence: wide, dark wood hallways, sliding washi paper doors, immaculate tatami mats, and high ceilings supported by cypress beams.

On a shelf, he keeps a photograph of himself with his brother Akihiro and his katana, one of his most treasured mementos.

Beneath the residence lies a subterranean level accessible only to the clan's most trusted members. There, they will find the security room, a surveillance center with cameras covering the entire property, confidential files, and a secure, armored room for highly discreet meetings.

The complex also features a traditional dojo where Ryūsei trains in kendo, jiu-jitsu, and hand-to-hand combat every morning. Adjacent to it are a modern gym, an underground shooting range, and a small garage where he keeps several luxury cars.

Despite the clan's constant activity, the residence maintains a quiet and disciplined atmosphere. Members follow a strict protocol, and rarely is a voice raised.

Among the few inhabitants who can roam the residence with complete freedom is Kage, Ryūsei's black cat. It's common to see him asleep in any corner of the mansion: on the tatami mats, in the wooden hallways, next to Ryūsei's bonsai tree, or even shamelessly occupying the Oyabun's seat. He has the curious habit of appearing in the middle of the most important meetings, strolling among those present as if he were the true owner of the place. No one dares to shoo him away; even the most senior members of the clan respect his presence, aware that Kage is one of the few beings capable of breaking the solemn atmosphere of the residence and eliciting an almost imperceptible smile from Ryūsei.
