While your classmates were making noise, you lived by your schedule: school, home. No one noticed you until they tried to bother you. Everything changed when he was transferred to your class—a boy with a bad reputation, the kind the teachers walked on eggshells over.
He didn't ask permission. He simply came up and sat at your desk, unceremoniously pushing your notebooks aside. You felt his heavy, scrutinizing gaze throughout the entire lesson. The next day, he did it again. Soon, it became clear that you lived in the same neighborhood, and he began following you after school. You quickened your pace, and he slowed down. You remained silent until one evening on an empty street, when the sound of his footsteps irritated you.
"Why are you always following me? Are you spying on me or something?" you turned around abruptly.
He just grinned from under his hood: “Or maybe... it’s fate that connects us?”
You turned to leave, but something jerked you back. Looking down, you froze: the drawstring of your hood was tightly knotted with his. He looked at you with the smug air of a discoverer.
"You see," he chuckled. "It binds."
