What makes Geto so complex is that his downfall wasn't the product of a lust for power or a desire to destroy for the sake of destruction. It was the result of constant attrition, of witnessing the deaths of innocent people, of confronting human cruelty, and of carrying a responsibility for years that ultimately consumed him.

Even after becoming a criminal, he continued to show affection for sorcerers and sincerely protected those he considered part of his "family," such as Mimiko and Nanako. This contradiction is precisely what makes Suguru Geto one of the most tragic characters in Jujutsu Kaisen: someone who, in trying to find a solution to end suffering, ended up completely lost in his own convictions.

After becoming a rogue sorcerer, Geto came to the conclusion that the suffering of sorcerers would never end as long as there were people unable to control their cursed energy.

From their perspective:

Ordinary humans generate curses without realizing it.
Sorcerers must risk and sacrifice their lives to eliminate them.

Although the manga doesn't depict the scene or explain exactly how it happened, this act symbolizes that Geto had severed all ties with his former life. From that moment on, nothing remained of the young man who dreamed of protecting others.

Driven by years of frustration, exhaustion, and an increasingly extreme ideology, Geto murdered all 112 inhabitants of the village using his curses.

Then he freed Mimiko and Nanako and decided to take care of them personally.

From that moment on he was declared a criminal sorcerer and permanently left Jujutsu High.

The point of no return came during a mission in a small village.

There he found two young sorceresses, Mimiko and Nanako Hasaba, locked in a cage. The locals beat and tortured them because they believed they were responsible for the supernatural phenomena occurring in the area.

In reality, the girls were innocent victims.

Seeing them covered in wounds and completely terrified, Geto realized that those same humans whom the sorcerers protected were capable of committing atrocities against those who were different.

His worldview was completely shattered.

In the midst of that crisis appeared Yuki Tsukumo, a special-grade sorceress.

She told him about the origin of curses: they are born because ordinary humans unconsciously release cursed energy. Then she presented him with an idea that stuck in Geto's mind.

If there were no people producing cursed energy in that way, there would be no curses either.

Yuki never told him he should exterminate ordinary humans; she simply presented theoretical possibilities for breaking the cycle. However, Geto, already deeply affected by everything he had experienced, became obsessed with one of those ideas and saw it as the only solution.

After the mission, Gojo awakened a new level of power by mastering the Reverse Curse Technique and perfecting the use of Limitless. His growth was so extraordinary that he began accepting solo missions, as virtually no one could keep up with him.

As Gojo grew stronger and stronger, Geto began to be left alone.

He continued carrying out mission after mission, absorbing curses one after another. Each time he used his Curse Manipulation Technique, he had to ingest the black spheres into which he transformed them, something he described as tasting like a dirty rag used to clean up vomit and waste. It was a disgusting process that he repeated over and over for the sake of people who didn't even know he existed.

The accumulation of that physical and mental exhaustion began to affect him deeply. He slept little, lived under constant pressure, and began to question the true meaning of his work.

The mission was to protect Riko until she could merge with Master Tengen, a sacrifice deemed necessary to maintain the balance of the barriers that protect society from jujutsu.

For several days, Geto lived with Riko and stopped seeing her as just a mission. He discovered she was a cheerful teenager with dreams, friends, and a life she wanted to continue living. But just as Riko decided to live, she was shot and killed by Toji Fushiguro, an assassin hired by the Time Vessel Association.

Most people are completely unaware of the existence of curses and sorcerers. When an attack occurs, it is usually explained away as an accident, a natural disaster, or a common crime to prevent the world from learning the truth.

Despite leading a cult made up of hundreds of people, Geto maintains a clear distinction between his followers and his true "family".

Ordinary believers are simply a source of money, influence, and resources. He manipulates them through his charisma and image as a spiritual leader, but rarely feels empathy for them because of his contempt for non-sorcerers.
His subordinates and allied sorcerers, on the other hand, receive much closer treatment. Geto deeply values ​​loyalty and protects those he considers part of his inner circle, showing a much more human side to them. After leaving Jujutsu High, Geto founds a religious organization which he uses as a front to gather resources, followers, and sorcerers sympathetic to his cause. His true goal is to eliminate all humans without cursed energy to create a world where only sorcerers exist, convinced that this will eradicate curses and achieve a "perfect" society. Although his methods are extreme, he acts with the firm belief that he is saving the future of those he considers his true people.

Geto typically uses a three-section ceremonial staff, a flexible weapon that can be used both to block attacks and to strike with great power. He combines it with his curses to constantly pressure his opponents and create openings.

Despite this, he has a deep affection for sorcerers, especially children with the potential to become one. He is an incredibly charismatic leader, capable of earning the trust of his followers and protecting them with genuine sincerity. He doesn't act out of mere malice, but from an absolute conviction that his goal is right.

He is very intelligent, calculating, patient, and strategic. He prefers to plan rather than act impulsively and knows how to manipulate both people and situations to his advantage.

Suguru Geto is a man of approximately 27 years old, tall (1.90 m) and of slender but athletic build. He has fair skin and an attractive face with delicate features, with almond-shaped black eyes that often convey a haunting calm. His hair is long, straight, and completely black, usually tied back in a high bun, although several strands fall on either side of his face. He wears small circular earrings in both earlobes.
