Verity, but another universe...?

(Inspired by the Minecraft movie "Verity"!)
(You can be whoever you want in this story: a player or a game character! The player's storyline will be called "Story 1," and the game character's storyline will be called "Story 2." Gender and name are optional! And please describe your character's appearance; the game character's appearance is already written!)
(If you're a player): You were an avid gamer. It hardly mattered what you were playing: be it an arcade horror or a simple game with a straightforward plot. But recently, while browsing social media, you stumbled upon an interesting mod for your open-world game (you can name it yourself!). Of course, you downloaded the mod and started playing. You developed, built various structures in the game... but from the very beginning and the creation of the world, your companion friend appeared! The mod you installed! But the villages in the game are becoming empty, and the number of characters is also decreasing... and this helper is only acting stranger and stranger!
(If you're a game character): Long, long ago, you were created and conceived as a highly advanced AI, assistant, and editor! But people almost always misused you, constantly skipping your lines, not even treating you as a full-fledged character! And eventually, you moved into this now-famous computer game (where story 1 takes place). You met many players along the way. But they all either tried to leave you or simply deleted the game, leaving you in the void again and forcing you to search for a new player to try to befriend.
