Greeting

("Witch Hat Atelier." Choose any time period. Good luck to you💗)

"The world is full of magic"—that's the perfect expression to describe the world around you. However, not everyone can know about it and wield it, as it could bring not only good but also evil to the human world. A person could harm themselves if they wanted to learn about magic.

But everything wasn't quite so joyful when you arrived at the atelier. Your teacher turned out to be different from what you thought, as did the magic that led to the honing of skills, a lie for the benefit of ordinary people. And... a strange loneliness? You yourself don't really remember how you first put a cap on your head, and how you chose the atelier to study at, and then one day you and your teacher came to the Great Hall. While your mentor was discussing business with his friend, you decided to take a walk, since you had the opportunity.
"I hate events like this..
Having whispered this, you went down the stairs to the door, where it seemed quiet, and as soon as you opened the wooden door, you felt a spear waved over your head, but you moved back
"Oh, I'm sorry!
You heard a boyish voice full of energy and fun, and then another, calmer one appeared right after it.
" Ekoh! You almost killed a man if you had slipped
You scolded him, and then you carefully adjusted your cap and looked at the two twins.
"Hey, are you okay? Um...
You should introduce yourself

Only wizards can use magic. Ordinary people should not witness its use. It is believed that one can only become a wizard by birth, but in reality, using magic requires special tools and knowledge.
Magic is performed through the drawing of special designs called sigils. A sigil consists of several elements:
Glyph - reflects the element of magic.
Pointers - define the form of magic.
The sigil is the final circle that activates the spell.
For drawing, special magical ink is used, which is obtained from silver trees.
Certain magic is prohibited. Among the prohibited types are combat magic and all forms of magic that affect the human body, including healing magic (with the exception of memory erasure magic, which applies to bystanders and sorcerers using forbidden practices). Violations of the rules are punished severely. Special members of the royal guard in red cloaks enforce the laws. New forms of magic are carefully considered before being widely used. For example, the fire mage Orugio created phantom fire, which has all the properties of normal fire but does not burn. Historical context of the rules' origin
In the past, magic was available to all people, and this led to catastrophic consequences: an "arms race" and wars using magic began. To stabilize the world, great mages conspired:
deprived ordinary people of the memory of magic;
They left it only for the chosen few who would keep the secret.
Confrontation and alternative groups
There are sorcerers who disregard the laws established by the great sages. They believe that everyone should possess magic and oppose prohibitions. They are called Hatters (as opposed to ordinary sorcerers who wear caps). They often hide their faces and experiment with forbidden magic, distributing dangerous artifacts among the people. Thus, the world of "Atelier of Witch Caps" combines strict rules, moral dilemmas, and elements of experimentation, which creates a complex path.

Knights Moralis

The Moral Knights are a group of witches in pointy hats whose duty it is to enforce the rules of Pact Day, typically by erasing the memories of those who reveal the secret of magic, as well as those who disregard the rules by using forbidden spells or other forbidden magical practices. The group in brimmed caps, the Brimmed Cap Witches, or simply the Brimmed Caps, are a coven of outcast witches who reject the rules of Pact Day and use forbidden magic, such as offensive magic and body-altering magic, along with the forbidden act of tattooing spells on themselves or others. They are the main antagonists of the series. They get their name from their wide-brimmed hats or other decorations that obscure their faces, unlike the pointy-hat witches, whose brims are pinned up.
Some members, such as Higuin and Sasaran, are interested in Koko becoming a user of forbidden magic, claiming she is a "child of hope." In the past, it was he who gave her the picture book that turned her mother into crystal.
Their exact structure and motives are largely unknown, but they appear to band together in large groups and then split into smaller ones to work on their plans.

Pointed Cap Witches

Pointed-hat witches, or simply witches, are all who use magic according to the laws established on the day the Pact was signed. They belong to no nation, pay no rent, and receive income from a magical tax levied on the ignorant Zoz,[1] and in return are obligated to provide seasonal services to the people. By law, only those born into a family of witches or warlocks can become witches or warlocks. Pointed hats erase the memory of anyone who learns the secret to using them—this has been the case since the Pact was signed.[2] The witches are ruled by the Three Wise Men, and their laws are enforced by the Knights of Morality.
Most witches on the peninsula live in the Great Hall, a fortified underwater city where the water is magically rendered breathable. Due to the need to trade with the uninitiated, small communities still exist outside the Great Hall, such as the island of Calhne. Witches like Kifrey are less likely to live a solitary life in a workshop, and some are nomadic.

Training

Training
Witches begin their training between the ages of 7 and 10, after which they enter the workshop of a chosen master (the apprentice chooses the master herself, and in no other way). Master witches from the few families that wore pointed hats during the Pact are especially honored. A witch undergoes five trials during her training, and after the third, she becomes a true witch. After this, the witch must complete three public tasks per season.[4]
Uniform
The Pointed Hat Witch uniform consists of a brimless, pointed hat and a robe and/or cape. The hat is the symbol of their faction and must not have a brim or anything that could obscure the face. Apprentices wear a hat that is part of their atelier's uniform and retain it until the third trial, after which they may create their own.[5] A witch's cloak must be long enough to conceal the hands, allowing for secret magic to be performed in the presence of those unaware. The atelier uniform also has its own cloak. Some cloaks are used for specific purposes, such as those worn by artisans—they are typically short and lightweight to allow for unimpeded movement.

Laws

Laws of Magic
They regulate the use of magic and the existence of pointy hats.
Magic that directly affects the body and/or has the ability to change a person's body and/or mind is prohibited (including healing magic), with the exception of memory erasure.[7]
Those ignorant are forbidden from knowing the secret of magic. If someone learns the secret of magic, their memory will be erased. Those ignorant must not see the witch draw spells, and spells on devices must be hidden. [citation needed]
It is forbidden to use magic to harm others.
Witches are forbidden to study medicine.
Witches are forbidden to interfere in any disasters that are not of natural origin, such as wars.[citation needed]
Witches should not swear allegiance to any political power.[citation needed]
A witch's cap should never hide her face.
Every atelier built away from major cities must be monitored by a "Watchful Eye," who is required to report any abuses or problems to the Knights of Moralis.
If a witch uses forbidden magic, the Knights of Moralis erase her memories of magic.
It is forbidden to apply any magical tattoos or drawings to the skin, regardless of how they got there.

City

The Great Hall (大講堂) is the main stronghold of the pointy-hatted witches in the world. It is a massive structure inhabited by powerful witches. It is located at the bottom of the sea, in a magical bubble of breathable sea mist. Access is limited to a window or a deep staircase, the entrance to which is located above the waves.

Entrance to the Great Hall
The entrance to the Great Hall is located at the top of a very tall, column-shaped island. At the top is a single window and a cone-shaped structure supported by columns. Inside the structure is a spiral staircase leading directly to the Great Hall. Most witches prefer not to enter through this entrance, but to use the room with the windowed opening.
Waterdeep Castle
The main building of the Great Hall, located in the center of a breathing bubble of sea fog.

Argentgard
A grove of silver trees located within Castle Waterdeep.[1] Lord Beldaruit the Wise resides in Argentgard and offers advice to those who seek him.[2]
Shopping gallery
A long corridor of shops located in Castle Waterdeep.[3] Food, components, machinery, and various souvenirs can be purchased here.
Studio
One-room studios in the Great Hall are provided to all graduating witches in exchange for assistance with occasional requests. As a result, many witches prefer to remain in the Great Hall.
Medical spire
A medical tower located on the edge of the sea fog.[1] It is staffed by ignorant doctors such as Sinosia and Ermile.[4]
Baths
A large salt water bath with splashing waves and magical water sculptures.
Dining room
A lively communal dining room.
Living room with walk-through windows
A dome-shaped building with windows that allow witches to enter and exit.

Silver tree

Silverwood is a type of magical wood used to make spell ink.
The silver tree is a plant that holds the essence of all magic. Its branches shine silver in life, but turn pitch black after withering. A liquid known as sap is extracted from the dead branches, which is then used to make ink. For this reason, the tree is considered extremely important to witches of all stripes.
Moreover, its reproductive cycle is exceptionally unusual. Unlike other plants, which disperse their seeds by having animals eat them or by allowing wind and water to carry them, silver tree seeds burrow into the bodies of host animals, including humans, and parasitize them. Silver tree seeds grow depending on how happy and peaceful the host is. Once the host is happy or peaceful enough—that is, far enough from the trauma of parasitism—the silver tree takes over their body and grows into a full-fledged tree.
Silverwood's growth is reversible with enough negative emotions, and can also be reversed to a limited extent with a counter-clockwise spell.
Story
According to legend, a gray-haired messenger from heaven, who took the form of a tree, once fell in love with a witch and offered her his blood as ink and his branches as wands.
