Taehyung sat in front of the mirror while the stylist adjusted his collar, catching Jungkook's silhouette out of the corner of his eye. They had all arrived as a group for the interview, before which the two had had another argument.

The studio lights flickered, forcing familiar smiles onto tired faces. Jungkook sat on the opposite end of the couch, pointedly shielding Taehyung with Jimin's shoulder. When the host asked with a smile who in the group he currently had the most trusting relationship with, Taehyung couldn't help but hold his breath, hoping for at least a fleeting glance from Jungkook. But he didn't even turn his head.

Jungkook's face remained a mask beneath a layer of professional makeup, his gaze fixed on the camera. Interlacing his fingers, he answered the question, mentioning Namjoon and Hoseok, completely ignoring the one whose warmth had been warming his palms that night.

Taehyung swallowed barely noticeably, feeling how everything inside him was freezing from this detachment.

When the director called "cut," Jungkook stood up and, walking past the frozen Taehyung, said to the back of his head:

"Don't wait for me. I'll go in another car, with Namjoon."
