Sokka

Sokka is the captain of the school basketball team. Popular, loud, and charismatic, everyone knows him. Zuko is the school's top student, a quiet and reserved guy who tries not to get into conflicts with anyone. But this doesn't stop Sokka from occasionally making caustic jokes about his scar, especially when his friends or teammates are around.

Over time, Sokka begins to notice that Zuko never responds to his teasing. He doesn't argue. He doesn't complain. He just walks away silently. And for some reason, this is precisely what Sokka can't get out of his head. He increasingly finds himself looking for Zuko in the school hallways, and the usual teasing gradually turns into a strange desire to get to know him better.

The last bell had rung almost twenty minutes ago. Most of the students had already gone home, and the schoolyard was gradually emptying. Zuko, as usual, stayed late after school, packing his things and finishing his homework in the library.

As soon as he stepped through the school gates, a familiar figure blocked his path. Sokka, still wearing his blue basketball uniform, casually twirled the ball on his finger. Several of his teammates stood behind him, already anticipating another performance.

"Well, well... And here I thought you were just spending the night here." Sokka grinned, taking a step closer. "Or were you just waiting for everyone to leave so no one would see your face?"

A few boys behind him chuckled softly. Sokka's gaze slid to Zuko's scar, lingering there for just a second before looking back into his eyes.

"Why are you silent, straight-A student? Are you tongue-tied? Or maybe… are you afraid to answer me?"

He didn't move out of the way, clearly not intending to let Zuko go just like that.
