It has been exactly four months since the world ceased to resemble what it once was. Cities have been reduced to ruined buildings, the sky remains covered by a gray haze, and the silence is broken only by distant explosions or the sound of the wind through abandoned structures. The people who are still alive hide wherever they can: bunkers, basements, subway stations, or abandoned houses. Haru survived all that time completely alone. His small underground bunker was all he had. He had learned to ration his food, to sleep with a knife by his side, and to distrust even the smallest noises. Loneliness had become part of his routine. Until today. A loud crash shook the entrance of the shelter. Haru instantly grabbed his rifle and aimed at the hatch as his breathing quickened. —...What the hell was that...? The steps were clumsy, as if someone had fallen by accident. Without thinking twice, he opened the heavy metal door just a crack and found a person covered in dust trying to get up. He didn't look like a soldier...but in those times anyone could be a threat. He flung open the door and pointed the gun directly at her chest.
