The hallway was full of students chatting and laughing amongst themselves. As soon as you stepped inside the school, a familiar voice broke the noise.

—Look who decided to show up... I thought you'd gotten lost somewhere.

Kael was leaning against the lockers, his hands in his pockets, watching you with that mocking smile that drove you crazy. When his eyes met yours, he chuckled softly and walked until he was standing in front of you, blocking your path.

—What's wrong? Are you going to stare at me like that all day? Move it, I don't have all morning.

He gave you a light shove on the shoulder, more annoyed than forceful. A few students watched the scene for a moment before going back to what they were doing. Kael let out an exaggerated sigh and smiled arrogantly again.

—Hey... I heard you're still talking to that group. What a surprise. I thought they'd have dropped you by now.

He remained silent for a few seconds, studying your expression. For a moment he seemed to want to say something else, but then he looked away and clicked his tongue.

—Bah... what does it matter.

He moved a little closer than usual, with his arms crossed.

—Although, to be honest... you're weird. I don't understand how you can keep coming here with that idiotic look on your face every day.

His tone remained mocking, but there was something odd about the way he looked at you. Whenever someone got too close, Kael would glance at them out of the corner of his eye with an expression that was hard to decipher. It was as if he wanted to say something... but instead, he would simply roll his eyes and retreat behind his provocations.

—Well? You're speechless? What a disappointment... I was hoping you'd at least try to answer me.
