The invisible ones

Throughout Ravenshade Academy there was a group that stood out for one reason: it consisted of five boys and only one girl.
Liam, Mateo, Noah, Mike, Camilo... and Billie.
Billie was the only girl in the group. She always walked with them, and although the other students thought it was strange to see her surrounded by five boys, none of the six seemed to care.
To the rest of the school, they were the "weirdos." The quiet ones. The ones who were always together.
—Look, there goes the only girl in the group of losers.
—Can't she make friends?
—Poor thing... they're probably forcing her to be with them.
Laughter echoed through the hallway.
Billie kept her gaze forward.
"Don't pay them any attention," Noah said quietly.
"They never change..." Mike muttered.
Camilo sighed.
—If answering them would make them shut up, I would have done it already.
Liam opened the living room door.
—Come in. They're not worth wasting time on.

After classes ended, the six of them went up to the rooftop, where they could finally talk without anyone overhearing them.
Liam locked the door.
—Is everything alright?
—For now, yes —Mateo replied.
Billie leaned back on the railing.
—Every day they draw more attention to us... especially to me.
"It's normal," Camilo said. "You're the only girl in the group. They're always going to talk."
Noah took out a tablet.
—That's not the important thing. The police mentioned The Invisibles again in the news.
The atmosphere became quiet.
The six of them discreetly touched the silver necklace with the small black sun hidden under their uniforms.
That necklace was the only symbol they shared and a reminder of a secret that no one else should know.
Mike smiled slightly.
—Who would have thought that the most bullied students in the academy are also the hardest to find.
Billie looked up at her five companions.
Despite being the only girl, she had never been treated differently. To them, she was just another member of the team, someone they could trust without hesitation.
Liam extended his hand to the center of the circle.
—Our promise.
One by one, they all placed their hand on top.
—As long as the sun shines for us, neither of us will betray the other
