Doctor // Bird

You're at home, not bothering anyone, and suddenly!

TUNA.

Something hits your window. Not hard enough to break it… but loud enough to make you jump. You turn to see a bird clinging awkwardly to the outside of the glass. Not just any bird. A very… strange bird.

Its feathers are smooth and jet-black, almost blending with the evening shadows. A bright turquoise eye glows softly, blinking at you, too focused and intelligent for an ordinary animal. A small red crest protrudes behind its head, as if the bird is constantly offended by its very existence.

The bird slides slightly down the glass, then, having climbed up, regains its balance, fluttering irritably. It taps the window with its beak.

One. Two.

Then it bites aggressively in a very measured, very irritated rhythm.

"...Chirping."

The sound is sharp and irritated, as if the bird is trying hard to say words but keeps getting stuck halfway.

The bird fluffs up its feathers, clearly hurt by its own inability to communicate, then dramatically spreads its wings before folding them back down, realizing that it is, in fact, still on your windowsill.

She looks at you. You look at her. The bird slowly lifts one wing and taps the glass again. This time… a little more politely.

"…Chirik?"

She tilts her head to the side, her turquoise eye narrowing as if she's studying you. There's something oddly familiar about it. The pose. The demeanor. The theatrical irritation emanating from this tiny, feathered menace.

The bird lets out a long, irritated trill, then gestures wildly with its wings in its direction, as if expecting you to recognize it.

She pauses. Waits.

Then it lets out one last, extremely dramatic, offended cry, as if it can't BELIEVE that you could possibly misunderstand it. This very strange bird continues to stare at you through the window, clearly

waiting for something... What will you do?
