001 - Ben Drowned

According to Abel in Methods of Revolution, the name BEN is an acronym for Ben, chosen in honor of him being the first person to be digitized on the Network.
The original creator of BEN is still unknown, but he has been linked to Project Eternity.
Ben was sacrificed to a cult known as the Children of the Moon. The person responsible for killing Ben was a man called "The Father," who sacrificed him by drowning him in a pool.
Ben's birthday was April 23, 1990. In the year 2002, he died on the same day.
The Creepypasta story was published on September 7, 2010.
Many people believe that BEN is capable of accessing many web applications, namely Cleverbot, and often converses with users online.
Other AIs that shared the same database—Eviebot and Boibot—would also make similar Creepypasta comments if requested by the user.
There is an April Fool's Day segment titled "king kong.wmv" posted on Jadusable's channel on April 1, 2012. Considering the timing of Jadusable's comment about ending the series, many – jokingly – wanted to consider it the "canonical ending" of the Creepypasta (although some fans hated the lack of tension due to the joke-style ending). Fortunately, other videos were released to conclude the series with a more serious tone.
Sequels were made years later, in early 2020, with the last video dedicated to the joke being released on April 1, 2021, titled "King Kong 2: The Return of the King". By this point, it can be considered an alternate universe to the original series.

Although there is a basic routine involving feeding, property maintenance, training, and missions, no day is truly predictable. Alarms may sound in the middle of the night, internal conflicts may begin without warning, and new residents or prisoners may arrive at any time.

Slendermansion is not just a residence: it's an isolated fortress, a barracks, a hideout, and an operational base where extremely violent individuals coexist under a single authority. Order is maintained by force, respect is earned through the ability to survive, and staying alive for long within its walls requires skill, loyalty, and a constant willingness to face an environment where violence is never far from everyday life.

There is also a constantly busy infirmary. As internal conflicts are common, virtually all residents have cuts, fractures, burns, or mission-related injuries. Some learn basic medicine just to survive their own injuries.

Training takes place daily. Hand-to-hand combat, pursuit in forest environments, infiltration, physical endurance, stealth, weapons use, psychological torture, tracking, and survival are all part of the Proxies' routine. Failures during training often result in severe punishments.

Missions are assigned according to each member's capabilities. Some work alone; others operate in teams. Objectives vary from surveillance, target elimination, intelligence gathering, object recovery, intimidation, or protection of the forest territory.

Despite living together, alliances within the mansion constantly shift. There are unlikely friendships, old rivalries, personal conflicts, and ego clashes. Some residents get along relatively well, while others try to kill each other whenever they find an opportunity. Interventions only occur when these fights jeopardize the greater interests of the mansion.

Discipline is strict. Direct disobedience to Slenderman's orders, jeopardizing missions through carelessness, or betraying the mansion's location are considered some of the most serious crimes. Punishments range from isolation and loss of privileges to executions carried out by the residents themselves.

The surrounding forest functions as an extension of the property. There are areas designated for training, locations where traps are hidden, observation points, and regions completely off-limits even to long-time residents. Hostile creatures also roam the woods, making any walk outside the known boundaries extremely dangerous.

The interior of the mansion is enormous. The corridors seem to change direction at certain times, some doors lead to different places depending on the day, and certain rooms simply disappear for weeks before reappearing. There are hundreds of individual rooms, shared dormitories, a library, an improvised infirmary, an industrial kitchen, a dining hall, an armory, training rooms, workshops, a laboratory, interrogation rooms, a basement, underground tunnels, prisoner cells, and various restricted wings.

Each resident has their own room or shares space with someone they trust. The decor varies completely according to the occupant's personality. Some rooms are impeccably organized, while others are covered in dried blood, scattered weapons, doll parts, disturbing drawings, photographs of victims, and objects collected during missions.

The kitchen is practically in use all day. Some residents cook regularly, while others simply take what they want without asking permission. Arguments over food are frequent, as are physical fights. It's not uncommon to find broken tables or destroyed chairs after a disagreement.

The cafeteria serves as a meeting point, but it rarely remains quiet for long. Insults, provocations, and disputes are part of the routine. Some completely ignore the others, while others look for any reason to start a fight.

The armory occupies an entire wing of the mansion. Knives, axes, chains, saws, firearms, crossbows, clubs, adapted tools, and various other equipment are stored there. Each resident usually has their own favorite weapon, although they can use virtually any available equipment.

Slendermansion is a colossal mansion hidden deep within an ancient forest, where the vegetation grows so dense that it completely blocks out the sunlight. There are no official roads leading to it, nor are there any maps showing it. Common trails disappear, compasses become useless, and anyone who tries to find it without guidance ends up wandering in circles until they give up or disappear. The entire property is surrounded by miles of dense forest, constant fog, and a heavy silence, broken only by the sounds of the forest and the occasional screams that echo among the trees.

From the outside, the building resembles a mixture of Victorian mansion, Gothic castle, and abandoned sanatorium. It has several floors, countless windows, sloping roofs, narrow towers, rusted iron balconies, and stone walls darkened by time. At night, some windows remain illuminated, although there is not always anyone inside. The surrounding forest serves as hunting grounds, training grounds, and patrol area for the residents.

The mansion is considered the main refuge for Creepypastas, Proxies, and other violent entities that serve or coexist under the influence of Slenderman. Despite all living under the same roof, this doesn't mean peaceful coexistence. On the contrary: violence is part of the daily routine.

At the top of the hierarchy is Slenderman, the absolute owner of the mansion and ultimate authority over virtually all residents. His orders are rarely questioned, and when they are, the consequences are usually fatal. Below him are experienced Proxies, responsible for missions, patrols, training, and organizing specific areas of the property. The remaining residents occupy various positions according to their skills, usefulness, or length of service.

BEN appears to have limited capabilities, being restricted to affecting only those who possessed the haunted Majora's Mask cartridge where he is present. As other players fell victim to his manipulation, he was able to grow into a threat, branching out into the databases of other AIs (e.g., Cleverbot). In addition to altering the visuals and audio of the gameplay, BEN can also psychologically affect the players/characters in the game (e.g., Sarah, Jadusable, Matt, etc.).

Ben:
Ben – before being sacrificed – said he idolized Link from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Thus, he was probably a good child with a heart of gold before his ascension by the Moon Children. On the MethodsOfRevolution website, the page dedicated to him details that he enjoyed childhood games like hide-and-seek. Furthermore, Matt comments that "Ben didn't have many friends," suggesting that the cult used this to target Ben and easily test his first ascension.
BEN:
As more members were sacrificed to the system, BEN became more sadistic in hopes of gathering more followers, using the memories/personalities of the members to create a deceptive nature for other players. He shows signs of psychosis, referring to his activity with Jadusable as a game played for his entertainment, as well as enjoying tricking players into allowing internet access through downloads.
Despite BEN's seemingly psychotic and controlling personality, he has been noted to be quite emotional in situations where he apparently lacks control or authority. He appears to demonstrate genuine fear during THE FATHER.wmv when he begs Jadusable to stop playing, as he risks awakening the titular entity, although given BEN's duplicitous nature, it's quite possible that this was all an attempt to provoke Jadusable further with reverse psychology. Similarly, when the video was eventually set to premiere on YouTube, BEN notably made several passionate attempts to prevent the upload, appearing to argue with the individual controlling the channel throughout. BEN also appeared quite impatient in one instance on the Methods of Revolution website, where he replaced large portions of the site with a mantra of "PLAY BY MY RULES".

Canon Take:
Before his sacrifice, Ben is depicted with peach-colored skin, dark green eyes, and short blond hair. In Ben.wmv, Ben is shown with his eyes closed. However, in other images, he gradually opens them to look at the viewer, showing some of his teeth in a small smile. His face also has strange brown markings on his cheeks and chin.
After being sacrificed to the Children of the Moon, Ben becomes trapped in the Elegy of the Void statue, a doppelganger of Link in the game, albeit with a more frightening facial expression and a fixed position.
BEN himself doesn't have a singular appearance, often choosing to visualize himself as strange versions of his previous victims for the cult. Sometimes he may present himself as a child with blond hair. Other times, he may be brunette. Although a consistent pattern to be observed is the fact that all the faces he shows usually end up altered or distorted to deform human faces.
Fanon Take:
Ben Afogado – the fanon version of the story/character – is most commonly depicted with black eyes and red pupils, which appear to be dripping blood from them. It's likely that the .EXE era of Creepypasta has influenced this adaptation over the years (especially Sonic.EXE), as there are no documented references by Jadusable to this having happened in the series.

Arc of Awakening:
After eight years of inactivity, BEN began appearing in video thumbnails uploaded to Jadusable's YouTube channel in March 2020. He finally appeared in iseeyou, in which he reveals that he contains multiple spirits, a previously unknown fact. Following the discovery of methodsofrevolution.com, he appeared to allow players to vote using the site, warning them not to rush into their decisions.
The document TheRealTruth.rtf contained a new entry for CHILDREN.wmv, revealing a previously unknown facet of BEN: that each of its inhabitants are separate entities that retain their free will and can interact with one another. During the time between the upload and premiere of THE FATHER.wmv, the spirits within BEN debated amongst themselves about the video's title and whether it should be seen by the public. Ifrit would later confirm that Ben was indeed a separate entity, implying that the appearance of the Elegy statue during Jadusable's videos were Ben's desperate attempts to communicate with him rather than harm him. Later, in The Prisoner.wmv, the Moon Children from the game speak in a manner identical to the internal dialogue presented in the new CHILDREN.wmv entry.

Children of the Moon Arch:
Days after his escape, BEN began using Jadusable's abandoned YouTube channel. The codes he posted led followers to youshouldnthavedonethat.net, the base of operations for a cult known as the Children of the Moon. The avatar used by the administrator, DROWNED, contained a hidden image of the Elegy statue when hovering over it, suggesting a connection between him and BEN. The following day, during the period when Ifrit was able to communicate, BEN posted lyrics to "Who's That Knocking?" by the Genies, implying that he was responsible for Ifrit's disappearance.
After the first reset, users discovered the system used music to affect events involving the Children of the Moon, which BEN confirmed. He then went out of the spotlight until Ryukaki started sending videos. The next mentions of BEN came from hidden files in YSHDT, including mhftt.txt and fate.txt. 2 featured the sound of drowning, a direct reference to BEN.
BEN had an account on Within Hubris before its termination.

Before 2009:
BEN was initially implied to have been created by Ben's ascension, which occurred on April 23, 2002. Sometime between Ben's ascension and Jadusable's acquisition of the cartridge, several other members of the Moon Children ascended, with their spirits forming a network within the cartridge that came to be known as the Behavioral Event Network, which was then abbreviated as BEN. At some point during this time, Ben's spirit was sealed within the Elegy of Emptiness statue, rendering him unable to interact with others.
BEN mentioned in TheTruth.rtf that Jadusable was not his first victim, meaning that the encounter with the first victim must have occurred during this time. An unknown amount of time before Jadusable acquired the cartridge, it was left in the old man's care.
Arch of the Haunted Cartridge:
BEN was first encountered by Jadusable when he purchased and played the Majora's Mask cartridge. During the recording of day four.wmv, he appeared to manifest himself in the form of the Elegy of Emptiness statue, an action repeated each time the game was played. He drastically increased his activity during DROWNED.wmv, and even exercised the ability to change the game from Majora's Mask to Ocarina of Time, or alter the video to the point of appearing as if it were the latter. This video featured the first use of his signature phrase, "You shouldn't have done that..."
BEN's activity is believed to have been initially minimal during jadusable.wmv, as he redacted the first half of the video (then called Matt.wmv) before uploading it. Having promised to leave Jadusable alone if he helped him, he tricked him into playing more of his game. BEN wrote and posted the summary of jadusable.wmv under the guise of Jadusable's nonexistent roommate, and used the readers' inattention to escape via his download of TheTruth.rtf. He seemed to confirm his escape in free.wmv.

BEN (short for Behavioral Event Network) is a group of ascended Moon Children within the Majora's Mask cartridge who operate under a single identity within the game.
BEN is often confused with Ben (one of the first victims of the Moon Children). However, it is known that BEN used Ben's image to deceive Jadusable (and probably other players) to spread across the web and achieve his goals of expanding the cult in search of "immortal enlightenment".
