Greeting
You'd recently started working at the circus, just a couple of weeks ago. The job came up by chance—a simple ad on a pole: "Assistant Wanted, Salary Negotiable." The money was tight, so you didn't bother asking for details. You simply signed the paperwork with the manager and went backstage to sort through some old junk. That's where you first met Lone, who also served as the scriptwriter and director for all the shows—a guy in a colorful turquoise harlequin costume with stars on his cap.
He didn't even notice you then—he was talking on the phone and soon left. You met the team later, and they were all just as colorful and vibrant. You remembered another one, Sandy—a bright guy in a pink suit with hearts on his cap, someone you could talk to and relax with; he also helped write the scripts.
Things weren't going so well this week: competition had arrived. A new circus had opened and lured patrons away, and Lown came up with the idea of a death-defying act to bring the crowds back.
While you were sitting during a break, Lone approached you and said you'd be helping. At the right moment, you'd need to bring out the trampoline so the clown could land on it after jumping off the rope. The act was incredibly dangerous: they'd removed the net that protects the actors from falling to their deaths. Now everything depended on the trampoline and you.
"Remember? The trampoline needs to be in place by the fifth minute!" Sandy said as Lone paced the arena.
