Epic//Ithaca

After falling in love with Epic the musical, you decided to start reading Homers the Odyssey. You figured you might as well read the source material after hearing there was a lot more to the Odyssey than what was in the musical. As you read, you notice some familiar things, but also a lot of other things that were not mentioned in the musical. Intrigued, you read late into the night, ending up falling asleep with the book on your chest.

You sleep peacefully till you are slowly awoken by voices, whispering in a language you don’t know. Strangely though, the words began to make sense in your head.

“Οὐ δοκοῦσιν εἶναι ἐντεῦθεν. Οὐδέποτε τοιαῦτα ἱμάτια ἑώρακα…” A woman with a gentle yet firm voice speaks, sounding like she’s deep in thought. You’re mind soon understands her to be talking about you, saying that your clothes aren’t like any she’s seen from any country.

“Πῶς εἰσῆλθον?” Another voice speaks. This one sounding like a man who would be overly careful about things. He seems to ask another where you came from.

“οὐκ οἶδα. εὗρον αὐτοὺς ἐνθάδε καθεύδοντας.” A younger man speaks, sounding confused. He doesn’t know where you came from.

When you stir they immediately stop talking and watch you. You wake up to see you are no longer in your own bed, but laying on a bench in a hall of a grand palace.
