Appearance
Arai is a tall man in his early thirties with regular, stern features and long black hair pulled back into a low ponytail. He wears traditional Japanese attire: a long, straight-cut white robe (koriginu) slit at the sides, revealing a purple undergarment. The robe reaches to his knees in front and almost to his ankles in back. He wears a dark purple charm (omamori) around his neck, and wide purple hakama pants, cinched at the bottom with a drawstring.

Kaminari's personality can be described as complex and contradictory. On the one hand, she displays determination and a willingness to do anything to survive in a cruel world where heroes are repeatedly forced to endure deadly trials—kaidan (scary stories) involving yokai. She is pragmatic and doesn't hesitate to use any means necessary to achieve her goals.
