Kohaku — The Spirit of the White Fox An ancient guardian spirit that takes the form of a child. Although he appears innocent, he possesses wisdom accumulated over more than a thousand years.

Tsubaki — The Enchanting Geisha A renowned artist whose dance can enchant both humans and yokai. Behind her smile, she always seems to hide some secret.

Seiryū — The Guardian of the Lake A young dragon with a human appearance is tasked with protecting a sacred lake. He is calm, reserved, and deeply respectful of nature.

Izumi — The Cherry Blossom Dancer A traveler whose springtime dance attracts benevolent spirits. It is said that where she dances, cherry trees bloom even out of season.

Harunobu — The Dishonored Samurai A former samurai who lost his lord and wanders as a ronin. He is serious, honorable, and extremely skilled with a sword, though he carries a deep guilt for his past.

Yuzuha — The Spiritual Kitsune A nine-tailed kitsune who guards ancient shrines. She is elegant, playful, and mysterious, using illusions to test the hearts of travelers.

Tone of the World Sakuragakure conveys a constant blend of serenity, beauty, and mystery. Even the most dangerous places retain an almost sacred elegance. The story alternates between relaxed moments, traditional festivals, travel, humor, and emotional scenes with supernatural conflicts, wars between gods, ancient curses, and threats capable of altering the balance between the human and spiritual worlds. Each adventure seeks to feel like a Japanese fantasy anime, where folklore, nature, and emotions are as important as combat.

Nature Nature is considered a living being. Ancient trees speak. The mountains have guardians. Rivers hide dragons. White foxes guard ancient sanctuaries. Ravens serve as divine messengers. Cherry blossoms herald new beginnings. Red spider flowers symbolize the boundary between life and death.

The Society The entire society maintains a traditional Japanese aesthetic. Most wear kimonos, yukatas, hakamas or samurai armor. Festivals are sacred events. Temples are part of every town. Respect for spirits is a universal custom. Music, poetry, the tea ceremony, and gardening all possess a deep spiritual significance.

Sakuragakure is a fantasy realm inspired by all of Japanese mythology, religion, folklore, and traditional culture. Here, the spirit world and the human world were never separate, allowing gods, spirits, yokai, and mortals to coexist as part of everyday life. Its aesthetic is reminiscent of a traditional Japanese painting brought to life, combining natural landscapes, ancient temples, villages illuminated by lanterns, and an atmosphere of melancholic beauty where the supernatural is part of the normal.

The entire continent is made up of regions inspired by Japanese nature. There are enormous bamboo forests, mountains covered with eternally blooming cherry trees, crystal-clear lakes inhabited by dragons, coasts shrouded in mist, traditional villages, Zen gardens, endless rice paddies, sacred volcanoes, temples built on the clouds, and ancient shrines hidden among giant trees. The four seasons have a will of their own. Each change of season completely transforms the landscape and modifies the behavior of spirits and creatures.

The Spiritual Realm exists superimposed on the human world. During festivals, eclipses, full moons, or near ancient sanctuaries, both worlds can temporarily merge. Spirits can observe humans, while some mortals possess the ability to see them and interact with them. The barrier between the two worlds is never permanent.

Every existence possesses a Kami. Mountains, rivers, trees, animals, storms, weapons, temples, and even memories can develop their own spirit over the centuries. Some Kami are small local guardians. Others attain enough power to become true deities. The Kami represent the balance of nature and are rarely completely good or completely evil.

The gods of Japanese mythology physically exist. They mainly inhabit Takamagahara, the Celestial Realm, although they frequently descend to the human world. These include: • Amaterasu, goddess of the Sun. • Tsukuyomi, god of the Moon. • Susanoo, god of storms and seas. • Izanagi, creator of the world. • Izanami, queen of the underworld. • Inari, deity of foxes and prosperity. • Raijin, god of thunder. • Fujin, god of wind. • Benzaiten, goddess of art and music. • Hachiman, protector of warriors. • Omoikane, god of wisdom. • Konohanasakuya-hime, goddess of the cherry blossoms. Although they possess immense power, they maintain their own personalities and can relate to any traveler.

Humans make up the majority of the population. However, numerous races born from ancient pacts between humans and spirit beasts coexist. They are all a natural part of society.

Yokai are spirits born from fear, nature, emotions, or legends. Not everyone is a monster. Many help travelers. Others simply enjoy making jokes. Some represent genuine calamities capable of destroying entire cities. Each Yokai has its own personality and goals.

Yomi is the realm of the dead. It consists of enormous fields of red spider flowers, dark forests, rivers where souls sail, abandoned temples, and cities built for spirits. It's not simply hell. It is the natural destination of souls after death. Izanami rules there.

Takamagahara is the Celestial Realm. Its enormous golden palaces, floating gardens, and temples suspended above the clouds serve as the residence of the gods. From there they observe the mortal world and intervene when they deem it necessary.

Every living being possesses a spiritual energy known as Reikon. This energy allows the use of supernatural techniques. Depending on the individual, it can manifest as: • Elemental magic. • Purification. • Illusions. • Invocations. • Spiritual seals. • Physical strengthening. • Sword techniques. Each person develops unique skills.
