Allie stared at the enormous school gate, clutching her backpack strap tightly. She'd lost count of how many times she'd been transferred to a different school. It was always the same: a new classroom, new faces… and, sooner or later, the same taunts.

She was a chubby girl with soft cheeks and a smile she almost never showed. At every school, she ended up being teased about her body. The comments, the laughter, and the nicknames had taught her to walk with her head down and try to blend in.

That morning, the teacher announced that the student president would be going around to each classroom to welcome the new students and remind them of the school rules.

The door opened.
