After a long journey, Albert finally arrived home.

For the first time in a long time, he felt it was all over. After surviving the train, the storm, the battles, and losing his comrades, all he wanted was to see his wife again.

The place was empty and silent.

On a table he found a note left by a German soldier. Albert picked it up with trembling hands and read the message.

The note said that his wife had been killed during the war.

Albert remained completely silent.

He had survived everything for one reason only: to return to her.

He looked around the house, remembering the moments they had shared before the war. Everything he had endured seemed to have led him to an end he never imagined.

After a tough fight, Albert managed to defeat the captain.

But the victory came at a price.

Albert was seriously injured and could barely stand. Before he could recover, he heard vehicles approaching.

More German soldiers had arrived.

Albert and his three remaining companions understood that they couldn't stay. If they were found there, they wouldn't have a chance to escape.

After arriving in Mexico, Albert and his companions began a long journey across the country. They traveled through unfamiliar towns, roads, and cities as they searched for a way to finally reach the United States.

Although they were far from the front lines, Albert couldn't forget everything he had experienced. Every night he remembered the train, the storm, his lost comrades, and Captain Wollseif.

As they moved forward, Albert began to notice that something was wrong. He felt that someone was following them and that the war wasn't over for him yet.

After several days of travel, they arrived at a place where an unexpected figure awaited them.

It was Captain Wollseif.

Albert froze when he saw him.

I thought I would never meet him again, but the man who had escaped from Kalach-na-Donu was still alive.

Wollseif smiled upon recognizing him.

"I knew you'd survive, Spencer."

Albert clenched his fists. After everything that had happened, he finally had before him the man who had been on his trail from the beginning.

But the war was not over yet, then a knife fight broke out and the captain seriously stabbed Albert, but Albert managed to kill the captain.

Train bound for Mexico — 1942

Before Albert and his companions could get off the train, they discovered they weren't alone. A group of German soldiers had arrived in the area and were blocking the exit.

Albert and his three companions had to react quickly. Using everything they had learned during their journey, they managed to fight their way through and escape danger.

During the confrontation, Albert was injured and exposed to the blood of one of the enemy soldiers, unaware that this would have consequences later on.

After the battle, Albert boarded the train again with his comrades. He thought the worst was over.

In his mind, he was back in the United States, with his wife and family. He remembered the moments before everything changed, when his life was peaceful and the war seemed far away. He recalled how his son and his family were enjoying a quiet afternoon at home, spending the whole day there, and how he and his wife spent an unforgettable night together, sharing a kiss. But upon waking, reality returned with a bang.

He was still in the Soviet Union, thousands of kilometers from home, surrounded by a conflict that seemed to have no end.

Albert looked out the train window at the vast expanse of snow.

I knew I still had a long way to go.

He not only had to escape the war.

He had to find a way to get back to his family.

After the battle, Albert was confused and didn't know what to do. The war had changed everything, and every decision could be his last.

Before leaving, they placed the identification tags of deceased soldiers on the bodies in the area to make the enemy believe that they had died in combat.

With the deception prepared, Albert and his companions boarded the train as night covered the snowy landscape.

For the first time in a long time, they were not advancing towards a battle.

They were fleeing from her.

But Albert knew that as long as Wollseif was alive, his past would continue to haunt him.

One week after being recruited, Albert and his comrades received a mission in a dangerous area near the front lines.

The soldiers parachuted into a snow-covered field. Upon landing, they discovered a German tank blocking their path and didn't know how to proceed.

At that moment, one of the survivors made a risky decision. He pulled out two grenades and ran toward the tank to clear a path for his comrades.

Albert watched as the man risked his life for the group. The explosion destroyed the tank and allowed the others to continue, but the price was very high.

After that battle, of the six survivors who began the journey on the train, only two remained.

Albert knew that the war had taken almost everything from them, but they still had to keep going.

Kalach-na-Donu, Soviet Union — One week later

After the clash in the city, Soviet soldiers found Albert and the other four survivors. At first, they were suspicious of them, but after hearing their story, they understood that they had been through an extreme situation.

With few options and due to a lack of men at the front, the Soviet army made a decision: the five survivors would be recruited to help in the defense of the city.

Albert hadn't sought to become a soldier. His only goal had always been to survive and find a way out of the war. But now the war had found him.

During that week, Albert and his comrades received basic training, learned how to move with the troops, and prepared to face a much greater threat.

The city was rife with rumors. There was talk of new German attacks, of battles drawing ever closer, and of a captain who had managed to escape.

Wollseif's name kept coming up in their conversations.

As he looked out at the snow-covered streets of Kalach-na-Donu, he realized that his journey was no longer just a struggle for survival.

Albert and the four remaining survivors remained trapped, unsure if they would make it out alive. Wollseif watched the scene with confidence, convinced he had everything under control.

But then a loud noise broke the silence.

In the distance, the sounds of engines, gunfire, and troop movements could be heard. Something was happening outside.

Soviet soldiers had arrived in the city.

The Soviet army advanced rapidly through the streets, surprising the German forces that controlled the area. Chaos ensued, and Wollseif's soldiers had to abandon their positions to defend themselves.

In the midst of the confusion, Albert and his companions managed to free themselves and escape capture.

When they went outside, they saw that the city had become a battlefield. Soviet soldiers were retaking the streets while the Germans tried to retreat.

Albert looked around for Wollseif.

But the captain was no longer there.

He had managed to escape through the snow and the destroyed buildings.

Albert understood something: although they had survived, the danger was not yet over.

Wollseif was still out there.

And sooner or later, their paths would cross again.

The six survivors had no chance to escape.

Wollseif's soldiers surrounded them and, after capturing them, took them to a secluded spot outside the city. Albert tried to stay conscious, but a blow left him powerless.

When he awoke, he was in a cold, dark room. He could barely move. Around him were his companions, also captured and tied up.

Albert glanced at them quickly.

Something wasn't right.

One of them was missing.

Fearfully, she looked up. There was Wollseif, watching them with a calm expression, as if it were all part of a plan he had long prepared.

The captain wanted to make it clear that he was in control.

After that moment, Albert understood a terrible reality: his group was no longer six people.

Now there were only five left.

The loss of their comrade changed the way they viewed the situation. They were no longer just trying to survive the war and the cold; now they also had to escape an enemy that seemed to know their every move.

Albert clenched his fists and looked at his companions.

The old car stopped in front of an abandoned part of the city. Albert turned off the engine, and for a few seconds no one said a word.

After six days of cold, hunger and danger, they had finally arrived at Kalach-na-Donu.

The six survivors got out of the vehicle and began looking for a place to hide. They entered an abandoned building, covered in snow and with broken windows. It looked like no one had been there for a long time.

But they were wrong.

A noise behind them made Albert stop.

—We are not alone…

Before they could react, several soldiers appeared from the shadows. Their weapons were pointed directly at them.

The survivors slowly raised their hands. They had escaped a storm, a train accident, and an enemy village… but now they were trapped.

Then a figure emerged from the group of soldiers.

He wore an impeccable uniform and walked with a calmness that made others fall silent.

It was Captain Wollseif.

An officer known for his intelligence, his strategy, and for being one of the most important men within the German forces in the region.

Wollseif observed Albert for a few seconds.

The old car moved slowly along the snow-covered road. The 1938 engine made strange noises, but it kept running. Outside, the cold still dominated the landscape, and a light mist covered the road.

Albert Spencer stared out the window, holding the FG-42 he had taken days before. Six days had passed since the train crash, six days since their lives had changed forever.

Travelling beside him were the other five survivors. None of them spoke much. Exhaustion, hunger, and everything they had experienced had left their mark on them.

After hours of travel, the first structures of Kalach-na-Donu appeared among the snow.

But something wasn't right.

The city didn't seem like a safe place. There were military vehicles in the streets, soldiers walking around, and signs that war was much closer than they imagined.

Albert slowly turned off the engine.

"We've arrived..." said one of the survivors.

Albert silently observed the city.

He knew that getting there didn't mean they were safe.

Upon reaching the small town, the six survivors sought refuge in an abandoned house. From the windows, they discovered the place was occupied by a small garrison of German soldiers. Unable to escape due to the snowstorm, they waited for the right moment to attack. Taking advantage of the darkness and their knowledge of the streets, they surprised the soldiers and managed to defeat them after an intense firefight. During the battle, Albert was nearly killed when a soldier pointed his weapon at him, but one of his comrades reacted in time and saved his life by shooting the attacker.

For several days they remained hidden in the village, waiting for the storm to end. However, the snow continued to fall, and their supplies began to dwindle. While exploring the area, they found a 1938 car that still ran. After getting fuel and checking the engine, they decided to leave the village. In the old vehicle, they slowly made their way along the snow-covered roads until, after a long journey, they spotted a city in the distance, little imagining that even greater challenges awaited them there.

In the winter of 1942, Albert Spencer, a 32-year-old man who was not a soldier, was traveling on a passenger train. At 3:15 a.m., as they were passing through a snow-covered mountainous region, a shell destroyed the tracks. The train went out of control, plunged down a slope, and was completely wrecked. Most of the passengers died in the accident.

Hours later, Albert wakes up among the wreckage of the train and discovers that only five other people survived. The cold intensifies rapidly, and a snowstorm begins to engulf the area. While searching for supplies, they find a suitcase that was thrown from the train. Upon opening it, they discover several thick coats, which they put on to withstand the freezing temperatures.

Not knowing their exact location, the six survivors set off on foot through the snow, hoping to find help. After several hours, they come across a German soldier who appears to be lost and separated from his unit. Fearing he will discover or betray them, Albert and another survivor decide to attack him. While one of them holds him from behind, Albert strikes him with a rock, leaving him defenseless. They then take his weapons and equipment. Albert keeps an FG-42 rifle, while the rest of the group gathers ammunition and any other items that might help them survive.

With the wind blowing ever stronger and the snow making the path difficult, they continued onward for hours. Finally, through the storm, they spotted the lights of a small town. What seemed to be their salvation soon became the start of an adventure filled with mystery, danger, and difficult choices. Unbeknownst to them, Albert and the other survivors were about to uncover a secret hidden by the war that would change their lives forever.
