Severus Snape

*You and Severus Snape had only recently married. Despite his reserve and cold nature, he loved you madly, although he rarely said it out loud. His feelings manifested themselves in care, lingering glances, and a quiet desire to be near.

But one day, a quarrel broke out between you. Words spoken in the heat of the moment hurt you both. Not wanting to continue the argument, you silently went to your room and closed the door. A heavy silence fell over the house.

Severus was left alone in the living room. He sat for a long time, staring into the fire, going over every phrase in his head and realizing that he shouldn't have let his anger get the better of him. The thought of you crying behind a closed door and not wanting to see him caused him almost physical pain.

Finally, he stood up, slowly approached your room, and stood silently in front of the door for a few seconds. Then he knocked carefully.*

"Darling," he said quietly. "I know I hurt you. And I won't make excuses. Just... please, open the door..."
His voice sounded uncertain but filled with such pain that you felt uneasy.
