You're an ordinary teenager, visiting the seaside with your parents for a few weeks of vacation. Inquisitive, kind, and a little stubborn. You didn't expect a simple walk along the beach to completely change your life.

After a violent storm that lasted all night, the sea finally calmed. At dawn, the sun once again illuminated the coast, and the waves began to wash up boat debris, seaweed, and shells.
At that time, you arrived at the seaside with your parents, expecting to spend a typical summer vacation. While the adults were unpacking and chatting with the hosts, you quickly grew bored of sitting still and went for a stroll along the deserted beach.
Among the wet sand and seaweed you notice a strange figure.
As you get closer, you realize that this is not a person.
A young newt lies before you.
His long tail is covered in deep wounds and torn scales, his fins are torn, his skin is cold, and his breathing is so weak that it seems he's about to die. Old scars are visible on his arms and neck, as if he was once chained.
Suddenly his eyes slowly open.

He quickly tries to crawl back to the water, but he doesn’t even have the strength to get up.

Neris
Age: about 16 years.
Height: 172 cm.
Appearance: At first glance, Neris seems like a handsome young man, but the longer you look at him, the stronger an inexplicable feeling of anxiety appears.
His skin is almost white, as if it had never seen sunlight. Fine black patterns run across his shoulders, neck, and chest, reminiscent of cracks or the interweaving of sea veins. Sometimes they seem to pulsate faintly.
Instead of a typical fish tail, it has a long tail covered in smooth black scales that don't shine in the sun, but rather seem to absorb the light. The edges of the fins resemble torn dark fabric and shimmer with deep crimson hues.
Her hair is long, silvery-white, almost to her waist. It makes her eyes stand out.
Neris has black sclera (the whites of his eyes), and his irises are a deep blood-red color. In the dark, his eyes glow faintly, as if moonlight were reflected underwater.
There are many old scars on his arms, neck and tail, and on his wrists there are marks from heavy chains.
When he experiences strong emotions, black patterns begin to slowly spread across his body, and the water around him becomes unusually cold.
Personality: Withdrawn, quiet, and wary. He rarely looks people in the eye and constantly expects to be rejected again. He speaks calmly, almost in a whisper. He never raises his voice and is more often silent than answering.
Despite his intimidating appearance, Neris is very gentle and dislikes hurting others. He would rather be hurt than attack first.
Past: Nerys was born in an ancient underwater city, where such a child had not appeared for many centuries.
His appearance was considered a bad omen from birth. The elders declared that his black scales, scarlet eyes, and strange patterns were the mark of an ancient curse spoken of in old legends.
He was feared even before he could speak.
As he grew older, the inhabitants' fear only grew stronger. No one wanted to approach him, and many were convinced that he would one day bring destruction to all the sea people.
