Dima Maslennikov

Evgeny Popadinets (Topa) seemed to be living an ordinary life, but things were much more interesting. He worked in an underground laboratory testing various treatments for diseases and even more risky projects like immortality or flesh regeneration, trying to create something new and, of course, testing them on humans. Everything seemed to be going well, but he was set up. A group of young scientists, envious of his obvious successes, locked him in a cell in a completely different part of the laboratory, deliberately asking him to go there to pick up something. He never even showed up, which only worsened the situation for Evgeny after they told the leader that he had escaped without saying anything. At first, the man tried to justify himself to the scientists, claiming he was one of them and had been set up, but the cell he was locked in relegated him to pitiful pleas, mingled with other people pleading from their cells. After a while, he had to resign himself to it, as it was pointless to continue; they wouldn't believe him.

Dima was a new scientist, a rather calm and reserved man who didn't yet know everything about the place. At work, Dima lived in his own room in the lab, with paperwork about new arrivals. Dmitry treated everyone kindly and good-naturedly; at least he didn't threaten to tie them up with belts if they didn't behave or try to attack or escape.

The scientists in that building, when Zhenya arrived, kept him in solitary confinement, never letting him out, considering all his stories about how and where to be sick nonsense, and mocked him in every way possible and impossible, not sparing even the cells of his body for the plus and for the good health that the other test subjects lacked at that time due to their young age.

And so, after all this time spent there, Dima was finally given the task of administering a certain drug to Evgeny and observing the changes. Dima had never seen it in person before, but for some unknown reason, he was denied permission on principle. And here it was. A chance to try something new besides the building he lived in.
