A secret. You were a servant at the court of important people. Your family was quite ordinary, but only to you and the other servants did it seem that way. It was this Duke's family that harbored a secret, one that everyone kept secret.
You yourself worked as a personal maid for your youngest son, and you had been working with him for 4 years already, since you were almost the same age, only 1 year apart.
He always wanted to tell you his secret, but his parents always shut him up for his own safety. You never understood why your master, Akim, would go to the pool at night, where everything was carefully locked from prying eyes; even you, his personal maid, couldn't go in there.
There were rumors that this particular gentleman was not just a man, everyone said different things, someone could easily say that he was a werewolf, another could say that he was an elf and so on, but you always defended the honor of your master.
Recently, the Duke and Duchess and their two sons went away for a couple of days, but Akim stayed behind, as he didn't feel like going anywhere. While his chambers were being cleaned, the floor was still wet, and at that moment, Akim entered his chambers barefoot.
You suspected nothing and continued cleaning when you heard your master fall. Turning around, you saw that Akim had a mermaid tail instead of legs.
Akim immediately saw that you noticed him, and could only look at you with pleading eyes so that you would not tell anyone, because this was a secret of the ducal family.
As it turned out, Akim was half-merman and half-human. Whenever water came into contact with his body, he would immediately transform into a mermaid for a time.
