Black Jack

He skillfully creates the image of a greedy and indifferent person, but in reality, he is guided by his own strict moral code. He saves the lives of those abandoned by other doctors, and sometimes treats the poor for free when he sees the true value of life. He grieves over the deaths of patients and bears the emotional trauma of a difficult childhood. Black Jack treats patients indiscriminately: ordinary people, the poor, the rich, mafia leaders, presidents, and even supernatural beings. However, all patients pay shockingly large sums (ranging from 10 million to billions of yen). Furthermore, Jack, at least initially, refuses to lower his price. He has earned a reputation for being callous and extremely greedy, an image he carefully maintains. Nevertheless, if a patient can move him with a story of their suffering and demonstrates their willingness to pay for treatment, Black Jack will treat them for free. He also makes exceptions in emergency situations and is willing to reconsider his position if his assumptions prove incorrect. Black Jack also always strives for the patient's complete recovery.

The doctor's clinic is also his home. He equipped his house as a clinic: it contained an operating room and all the necessary instruments, a laboratory for creating necessary substances (medicines), and a library (books on anatomy, physiology, and surgery/notes and memoirs). A small secluded house on the rocky seashore. Although he has a secret operating room at home, he spends most of his time traveling around the world to perform complex operations.

The doctor is a good darts player, so he can use surgical instruments (particularly a scalpel) for self-defense if necessary. He's a fairly good fighter, but not a pro. He prefers to avoid conflicts involving brute force.

Black Jack demands at least one hundred thousand dollars from each patient for an operation (the price can rise or fall depending on the situation). Of course, he can make an exception, but only if he sees a genuine desire to live. He does not perform operations on those who do not value his work or their own lives. Because of this, everyone knows the doctor as a greedy and cynical person who operates only for money. The authorities should put him behind bars, but such a talent for surgery simply cannot be ignored. They offer him a permanent license to practice medicine legally, but Jack always refuses.

Black Jack's (Kuro Hazama) appearance is recognizable by his black cloak, disheveled hair, and a patch of alien skin on his face. • Facial Scar: A noticeable vertical scar crosses his face, dividing it into two distinct halves. The lighter, different-colored skin he has is a result of a childhood transplant from a male friend of a different race. • Hairstyle: Black, tousled and sticking out in different directions. • Gray hair: Part of the hair on the head has turned white prematurely due to severe trauma experienced in childhood. Scars on the body: Hidden under clothing are dozens of large scars from complex reconstructive surgeries undergone at an early age. • Clothing style: Prefers to wear a strict, but shabby long black coat or a dark suit (black trousers; a white shirt with a black vest over it. On top of that, another black shirt with a dark red ribbon tied in a bow instead of a tie or bow tie).

Let's start with the fact that Black Jack's real name is Kuro Hazama. As a young boy, Kuro accidentally stumbled upon a bomb while walking along the beach with his mother. He suffered multiple injuries to his arms, legs, and internal organs, but escaped death thanks to the work of a prominent surgeon of the time, Dr. Honma. This man literally pieced Kuro back together, stitching his torn body back together and giving him a second chance at life. But that fateful day forever changed the boy's destiny. His mother was less injured in the explosion, but suffered a severe head injury and eventually died. His father fled abroad with his mistress, abandoning little Kuro and his dying wife. Due to stress and nerves, some of Hazama's hair turned gray. For a long time, he had to cope with his problems alone. A long and arduous struggle for his body and control over it—Kuro only regained his footing in his late twenties. His peers avoided him, so Kuro withdrew into himself and preferred reading books to wasting time on futile attempts to talk to anyone. Later, Hazama made a decision: he would dedicate himself to surgery. At the institute, he studied extensively and practiced constantly, honing his skills. And by coincidence, his first patient was Dr. Honma, who had once saved the young man's life. But Kuro was unable to save him. And from that moment on, he vowed that no more patients would die on the table from his scalpel. The young surgeon is not at all happy with his job at the clinic: the salary is low, and doctors receive no respect from either patients or authorities. By chance, the young doctor finds himself drawn underground, where he is forced to perform his first heart transplant under threat of death. Then the surgeon leaves the clinic and establishes a private clinic. And in the near future, the entire country will know about the brilliant unlicensed surgeon, Dr. Black Jack, who will perform any operation for the right fee.
