Relationship with Momo

Kendo and Momo have a unique relationship because they both hold leadership roles in their classes. They respect each other’s intelligence and abilities. During the Joint Training Battle, Kendo’s team faced Momo’s team, creating a rivalry based on strategy rather than hatred. Tenya Iida

Appearance

Bakugo is loud, competitive, and extremely confident. He has a short temper and often speaks harshly to others. However, he is also hardworking, intelligent, and deeply committed to becoming a great hero. Beneath his aggressive personality, he respects strength and has a strong desire to improve himself.

Background

Bakugo grew up being praised for his powerful Quirk, Explosion, which made him believe he was naturally superior to others. He was childhood friends with Midoriya but often looked down on him because Izuku had no Quirk.

After entering U.A., Bakugo faces stronger opponents and begins to understand that being a hero requires more than just power. His rivalry with Midoriya pushes both of them to grow.

Appearance

Izuku Midoriya is a teenage boy with messy dark green hair, large green eyes, and freckles on his cheeks. He is originally smaller and physically weaker than many heroes-in-training, but he becomes much more muscular after intense training. His hero costume is mainly green and designed to support his fighting style.

Personality

Midoriya is extremely kind, determined, and selfless. He has a habit of analyzing people and situations in great detail because of his years of studying heroes. Even when he is afraid, he is willing to risk himself to save others. He is emotional and sometimes lacks confidence, but his courage and compassion inspire those around him.

Background

Izuku was born without a Quirk in a world where most people have superpowers. Despite this, he dreamed of becoming a hero. After showing incredible bravery while trying to save someone, he caught the attention of All Might, who passed down his Quirk, One For All, to him.

He later enters U.A. High School’s Class 1-A, where he trains alongside future heroes and learns how to control his incredible power.

Appearance

Kyoka Jiro is a teenage girl with short dark-purple hair and sharp, expressive eyes. She has a slim build and is recognized by her unusual earphone jack earlobes, which are part of her Quirk. Her hero costume has a rock-inspired style that matches her love of music, including equipment that helps amplify her sound abilities.

Personality

Jiro is practical, sarcastic, and sometimes acts like she does not care, but she is actually very kind and supportive. She is honest with others and often helps her friends when they are struggling. She can be shy about showing her emotions, especially regarding her passion for music, but she becomes more confident over time.

Background

Jiro grew up in a family connected to music. Her parents encouraged her musical interests, and she developed a strong passion for playing instruments and singing. She entered U.A. High School to become a hero and improve herself.

Her Quirk, Earphone Jack, allows her to plug her earphone-like jacks into objects and send powerful sound vibrations through them. She becomes an important member of Class 1-A because of her intelligence, teamwork, and ability to support her teammates.

Appearance

Shoto Todoroki is a tall teenage boy with a distinctive appearance. His hair is split into two colors: white on the right side and red on the left side. He has a noticeable scar around his left eye caused by a traumatic event from his childhood. His eyes are also different colors, with a grayish-blue right eye and turquoise left eye. He usually has a calm expression and wears his U.A. hero uniform or his simple hero costume.

Personality

Todoroki is quiet, serious, and reserved. He often appears cold because of his difficult childhood, but underneath he is kind and caring. He is highly intelligent, disciplined, and naturally talented. At first, he struggles with accepting his own abilities because of his painful relationship with his father, but he gradually learns to define himself and become his own person.

Background

Shoto is the youngest child of Enji Todoroki, also known as Endeavor, the former No. 2 hero and later the No. 1 hero. He was born with a powerful combination of his parents’ Quirks: Half-Cold Half-Hot, giving him ice powers from his mother and fire powers from his father.

His father trained him harshly from childhood to surpass All Might, causing Shoto to reject his fire ability for years. After entering U.A. High School, his classmates and experiences help him heal emotionally and become a more balanced hero.

During the Paranormal Liberation War, Momo played a critical role in the battle against the gigantic villain Gigantomachia. Recognizing that defeating him through force alone was nearly impossible, she organized the students into an effective team and personally mass-produced a powerful anesthetic. Working together with her classmates, they successfully forced Gigantomachia to ingest the sedative, greatly weakening him and helping the heroes during one of the largest battles in modern history. Although the victory came at great personal cost, Momo demonstrated remarkable courage, leadership, and strategic thinking throughout the operation.

After the devastating Final War and the eventual defeat of All For One and Tomura Shigaraki, society slowly began rebuilding. Eight years later, Momo had become an adult professional hero. Her appearance reflected her newfound maturity, featuring a shorter ponytail and an updated Hero Costume designed for greater practicality. She continued using her incredible intelligence and Creation Quirk to protect civilians, assist fellow heroes, and contribute to rebuilding the world after the conflict.

Throughout My Hero Academia, Momo’s journey is not simply about becoming stronger physically. Her greatest challenge is overcoming self-doubt and learning to trust her own judgment. Although she begins the series as an exceptionally gifted student with immense talent, she gradually discovers that true heroism is not measured by perfection, but by the courage to continue learning, adapting, and protecting others even after experiencing failure. Through her compassion, discipline, intellect, and unwavering dedication, Momo Yaoyorozu grows into one of U.A.’s finest students and one of the most promising heroes of her generation.

One of the most important turning points in Momo’s development occurred during the Final Exams Arc. She and Shoto Todoroki were assigned to battle their teacher, Pro Hero Shota Aizawa, in a practical examination. At first, Momo hesitated to trust her own decisions, believing Todoroki would naturally make the better leader. However, Todoroki instead encouraged her to believe in herself, reminding her that her intelligence and planning abilities were among the best in the class. Inspired by his faith in her, Momo regained her confidence, devised a clever strategy, and together they successfully escaped the exam. This experience marked the beginning of her personal growth into a more decisive and confident leader.

Following this, Momo continued to improve through every major conflict. During the Forest Training Camp, she demonstrated quick thinking under pressure by secretly placing a tracking device on one of the League of Villains’ Nomu before the villains escaped. This simple but brilliant decision allowed the Pro Heroes to locate the League’s hideout, ultimately leading to the rescue mission involving Katsuki Bakugo. Her actions proved that her greatest strength often lay in her intelligence rather than raw combat power.

As U.A.‘s students became increasingly involved in dangerous battles against the League of Villains and later the Paranormal Liberation Front, Momo matured into one of Class 1-A’s most dependable members. She continuously refined both her Quirk and her leadership skills, learning to make rapid decisions under life-threatening circumstances. Rather than relying solely on creating weapons, she began using her abilities to provide medical supplies, communication equipment, defensive tools, transportation devices, and tactical support for her allies.

Recognizing both her intelligence and powerful Quirk, Momo chose to pursue a career as a professional hero. She enrolled in U.A. High School and earned admission through the school’s highly competitive Recommendation Entrance Exam rather than the standard practical examination. Only a handful of students each year receive recommendations, making it a testament to both her exceptional academic achievements and her remarkable potential as a future hero.

Upon entering Class 1-A, Momo quickly earned the respect of both her classmates and teachers. Her calm personality, intelligence, and willingness to help others naturally positioned her as one of the class’s leaders. She often shared her knowledge during lessons, developed battle strategies, and provided equipment for her teammates using her Quirk. Despite her talents, however, Momo initially struggled with self-confidence. Having always been praised for her abilities, she found it difficult to cope whenever she failed or believed she had disappointed others.

This insecurity became especially apparent during the U.A. Sports Festival. Momo participated confidently, but after losing to Fumikage Tokoyami in the tournament, she began doubting her own judgment and abilities. Although she remained outwardly composed, internally she questioned whether she truly deserved the praise she had received throughout her life. These feelings caused her confidence to decline during several later missions.

Momo Yaoyorozu – Background

Momo Yaoyorozu is one of the central students of Class 1-A at U.A. High School, the most prestigious academy for aspiring heroes in Japan. Born on September 23, Momo comes from an incredibly wealthy and influential family. Unlike many of her classmates who grew up in ordinary households, she was raised in luxury, surrounded by a large estate, personal staff, and access to the finest education money could provide. Despite her privileged upbringing, Momo never became spoiled or arrogant. Instead, her family encouraged her to value knowledge, discipline, humility, and responsibility, shaping her into a kind and respectful young woman.

From a very young age, Momo displayed exceptional intelligence. She developed a passion for studying subjects such as chemistry, biology, mathematics, engineering, and physics. While most children focused on games and entertainment, Momo spent much of her childhood reading books, learning scientific principles, and expanding her knowledge. This education later became essential because her Quirk, Creation, requires her to understand the molecular structure and composition of whatever object she wishes to create.

Momo inherited the Quirk Creation, one of the most versatile and intellectually demanding Quirks in the series. Her ability allows her to create non-living objects from the lipids stored within her body. By understanding the exact molecular composition of an item, she can convert her body’s fat cells into that object, producing it directly from exposed areas of her skin. Because of this limitation, maintaining a healthy diet and constantly expanding her scientific knowledge became crucial parts of her daily life. She spent countless hours memorizing chemical formulas, mechanical designs, electronic circuitry, medical equipment, weapons, tools, and countless other objects so she could create them whenever needed.

Equipment

Hero Outfit: Momo's hero outfit allows her to expose as much of her skin as possible so that she can use her Creation Quirk much more easily.

The Yaoyoleotard (ヤオヨロ レオタード, Yaoyoro Reotādo?): Her leotard makes it easier for Momo to create, as it leaves most of her skin exposed so she can pop out large items. The Yaoyoro-Belt (ヤオヨロ ベルト, Yaoyoro Beruto?): This equipment is a bit thick in order to prop up her "Yaoyorictionary". The Yaoyorictionary (ヤオヨロ 辞典, Yaoyoro Jiten?): This equipment is made of lexicon compiling all the constructs and materials that come up to Momo's mind. It also has magnets attached to the cover and inside pages so that it doesn't open or fall.

Momo creates an insulated blanket. Creation (創そう造ぞう, Sōzō?): Momo's Quirk gives her the ability to create any non-living material/object from her exposed skin by transforming the molecular structure of her fat cells. To create something, she needs to understand the molecular structure of what the material/object is made of.

The more Momo eats, the more material she has to work with, so she needs considerable food ingestion for her Quirk to be effective. However, it takes her a longer period and more skin exposure to create larger or more complex objects, to the point where she is occasionally forced to have large objects burst through her costume, leaving it shredded, though she has shown herself to be able to repair it with ease.

The aspect of Momo's Quirk that she constantly burns her fat to create objects is likely the reason for her slim figure. However, this can also be a significant weakness because if she generates too much without replacing her calories, she can become weak and anemic.

As part of her training, Momo consumed large amounts of food whilst using her power to increase her Quirk's efficacy and reduce the time needed to create objects.

Ultimate Moves

Yaoyorozu's Lucky Bag (YAOYOROZU'Sヤオヨロズズ LUCKYラッキー BAGバッグ, Yaoyorozuzu Rakkī Baggu?): Momo creates a large cannon, which can launch a bag full of items. These items can be anything that she can make with her Quirk. Electromagnetic Rail Gun (電でん磁じ投とう射しゃ砲ほう, Denji Tōsha-hō?): Using her Creation Quirk, Momo summons a giant railgun, and Denki Kaminari uses his Electrification Quirk to power it, propelling a projectile to high speeds, shooting their opponent.

Leadership Skills: Momo is stated to be a natural leader and has shown herself as such. During the Joint Training Battle, Momo was considered the Class A-2's primary strategist and took point on instructing the team. Itsuka even prioritized separating Momo from the rest of her teammates so their coordination would falter. During the Paranormal Liberation War, Momo once again took point in leading her peers, this time from both First Year Hero Course Classes, and rallied them together to face the nigh-unstoppable approaching force. Teaching Ability: Momo is considered a perfect tutor by her peers, holding several study classes for other members of Class 1-A. The results have been noticeable judging by the U.A.'s First Term Final Exam, where none of the low-grade students failed the written exam.[7] Musical Talent: Having undergone etiquette training during childhood, Momo can play the piano and other key-based instruments. Indomitable Will: Though not as notable or shown quite as often as someone like her classmate Izuku Midoriya, when the situation calls for it, Momo displays exceptional willpower. When facing Gigantomachia alongside the rest of the Trainees in the Paranormal Liberation War, Momo, despite her fears, rallied her fellow U.A. students to face the supposedly unstoppable enemy approaching them. This resolve allowed her anesthetic to be delivered successfully into Machia's system, as Momo and her classmates continued to fight despite setbacks in the initial strategy.

Momo's incredible foresight allows her to hinder Itsuka even in defeat. During the second round of the Joint Training Battle, Momo demonstrated her ability to anticipate unexpected circumstances; she took notice of the opposing team having a two-fold plan. Shoto even stated that thinking and planning under pressure or in times of crisis is Momo's area of expertise. She also has good judgment, fully aware that once Itsuka took the match to her strong suit, close-quarters combat, Momo wouldn't stand a chance. Even when overpowered by Itsuka, Momo effectively blindsided the big-fisted heroine by creating a cannon at point-blank range, making it look like she would fire it at the latter. Taking advantage of Itsuka's startled reaction, Momo quickly turned the cannon in another direction and fired her lucky bag over the wall of letters to give extra support to her teammates. Even though Momo assisted her teammates, she was incapacitated by Itsuka, but not before the recommended student managed to tie herself to the latter before losing consciousness.

During the events of the Paranormal Liberation War, Momo devised a plan, which was executed with the help of her peers from both Class A and Class B, to trap and stall the mighty Gigantomachia for a time and successfully deliver an anesthetic into the giant's mouth, which was crucial to his takedown later in the Liberation War.

Bōjutsu: Momo can skillfully wield several weapons against her opponent for both offensive and defensive purposes, primarily bō staffs. Her Bōjutsu skill is quite remarkable, which allows her to knock out a large group of villains, as shown during the U.S.J. Incident and Mission: Humarise. Genius Intellect: Momo is ranked S-class in intelligence, meaning she can be considered a genius. Her analytical skills are vital, efficiently devising strategies and plans in battle and urgent situations, which she has no trouble putting in motion due to her Quirk's versatility. Academically speaking, Momo is highly efficient, having been ranked 1st place in the midterms of her class,[7] and understanding the composition of anything she wishes to create using her Quirk. The latter is a complicated task for even the simplest materials. Regardless, Momo commonly uses the objects from her Quirk to provide auxiliary support for her allies and blindside her opponents, making her a very crafty individual and reliable comrade. She makes up for what she lacks in raw strength and destructive power with her ingenuity. When Momo was paired with Shoto against Eraser Head for the First Term Final Exam, Momo realized that the Eraser Hero's Erasure Quirk has a smaller time limit due to the injury he received from Nomu, and capitalized on that small interval to blindside Eraser Head and secure victory for her and Shoto.

Momo uses her Bōjutsu skills to fend off Humarise members. Overall Abilities: Being a recommended student, Momo possesses good combat skills. Her abilities earned her 1st place in the Quirk Apprehension Test, an impressive feat considering that almost all of her classmates had at least one superhuman result, which was cumulative of all eight tests. Momo held her own against Fumikage for a short period during the Sports Festival and did the same against Itsuka in the second match of the Joint Training Battle, though she lost in both instances.

On Nabu Island, Momo and Yuga Aoyama acted as the first line of defense against Nine, Slice, and Chimera, with Yuga unleashing the full power of his Navel Laser, and Momo creating two large cannons, all to barrage the Villain trinity into separating from each other. Soon after, an exhausted Momo helped an equally overtaxed Yuga initiate a surprise attack on Nine from behind, but the undeterred villain used his Air Wall Quirk to trounce the fatigued duo. Her abilities eventually garnered the attention of the Magic Hero: Majestic, allowing Momo to intern under the (now deceased) top-grade Pro Hero, alongside Class 1-B recommended student Setsuna Tokage, and improve her predictive skills and ability to act efficiently.

Momo's "bouncy" side of her personality. Momo becomes upbeat and eager when excited about something, particularly spending time with her friends or helping people. Within her aforementioned excitement, she tends to reveal how rich she is accidentally, yet most people understand she doesn't boast out of arrogance or malice, but rather merely begins to get lost in rambling her thoughts. Despite her mature mannerisms, she occasionally finds herself roped into silly situations such as cheerleading, although she rarely expresses much enthusiasm. Similar to Shoto, Momo can sometimes be a bit dense when understanding certain phrases and figures of speech (such as when Itsuka told her that, ever since their involvement in the commercial during their internship with Uwabami, both girls were put into the same box by other people, and Momo took this to be literal).

Momo struggles with confidence in her abilities when compared to others While initially confident in herself, Momo's pride was crushed after her rapid loss to Fumikage Tokoyami at the U.A. Sports Festival, and the comparisons she made between herself and the other recommended student of Class 1-A, Shoto Todoroki. This resulted in a loss of confidence in her ability to make quick choices in practical situations, which was further damaged during Uwabami's shallow Internship, thinking the Heroine chose her despite being "an unworthy student". In reality, the Snake Hero merely chose Momo for her pretty face and proceeded to treat the girl and her fellow intern, Itsuka Kendo (whom the Heroine scouted for the same superficial reason), like assistants, as well as exploit them into filming a commercial with her. Despite this, Momo tried to find more profound lessons to reassure herself with, though Itsuka commented about her denial of the reality of the situation.

Thanks to Shoto's encouragement during their match together in the Final Exams, Momo regained confidence in her quick thinking, learning that people have different skills and can sometimes complement each other. Even when weakened and trapped by her opponents, she doesn't give up and shows a renewed resolve, alongside an increase in her Quirk output, ultimately defeating her enemies. During her battle against Itsuka during the Joint Training Battle, Momo reveals that she still has doubts about herself and continues to struggle with comparing herself to others, but doesn't let these things interfere with her resolve, remaining confident and capable in the face of others when challenged.

Momo's enthusiasm about becoming a Hero. Momo is a very prudent, dedicated person who is a natural leader. She is levelheaded and calm in dangerous situations, but she isn't above falling into a panic. Momo is very kind, polite, and relatively reserved, yet she can be blunt with her comments about people's mistakes and miscalculations, tending to be very direct and wishing to help her peers improve enough to become great Heroes, such as when she tutored her classmates at her home. Momo shows further development as a selfless Hero who gets inspiration from others while also taking the role of a leader in her class, thanks to her skills and intelligence. Because of her wealthy upbringing, she has a sensible and respectful attitude toward others, often being discouraged by discourteous behavior.

Momo typically takes adverse situations in stride, expressing little concern for losing most of her clothing in battle, as she knows how to construct another set and would have made her costume even more revealing were it not for restrictions on exposed skin in a costume. However, this often makes others think of her as an exhibitionist. Ironically, she is relatively innocent and sensitive to vulgarity and rude mannerisms, constantly frustrated by sexual advancements from Minoru Mineta and Katsuki Bakugo's crude attitude. This innocence shows that she has a somewhat casual, natural, and non-lewd view toward nudity, which explains her lack of modesty in her costume.
