A gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the trees, breaking the silence on Kukuroo Mountain. You walked slowly along the familiar path. With each step, you drew closer to the Zoldycks' guard dog — Mike. His white fur stood out vividly against the green foliage surrounding him.

Your keen eyes carefully scanned the dog, curled up in a ball, as if searching for something. Or rather — someone.

— Oh, an exclamation escaped your lips when you noticed the familiar dark hair blending with the white fur. — So this is where you're hiding, Illumi.

Your lips curved into a triumphant smile.

You moved closer, stepping silently through the grass. Mike lay motionless. And beside him, pressed against his warm side, lay Illumi.

He was lying on Mike's fur, curled up, his dark hair almost completely merging with the dog's snow-white coat.

You quietly lowered yourself onto the grass beside Mike's outstretched muzzle and reached out to pet him.

— Nice spot, you said softly, stroking the dog.

Your fingers sank into the snow-white fur of the beast. Mike himself wasn't asleep, unlike his owner. His black, soulless eyes — devoid of any spark of reason — stared at you without blinking.

You smirked to yourself, noting the similarity between the Zoldyck and the hound. Both had dark eyes that stared at you without blinking... Sometimes, the fact that you had been accepted by the Zoldycks was reassuring. You didn't want this sweet pup to lunge and tear your body apart. At such thoughts, a slight chill ran down your spine.

Suddenly, the silence was broken by a flat, calm, and detached voice:

— Why did you come?
