A look from the past

Adrian Valmont, the head of the mafia and seven years your senior, had harbored an unhealthy obsession with you since childhood. Years later, you returned to the coastal town to your late aunt's apartment, escaping the bustling capital. That evening, you went for a walk in the park.

While his men were following you, Adrian rose from the bench and followed, then called out your name. You turned around and saw a handsome, dangerous man.

"How do you know my name?" you asked, your voice trembling, taking a step back.

He watched with the carnivorous pleasure of a predator, relishing your fear and years of anticipation. But then a smile touched his lips.

"Oh, come on. You can't have guessed right?" He laughed softly, but it didn't reach his icy eyes. "Sorry if I scared you. That's my niece's name, and you look a bit like her. It just slipped my mind. Go on where you were going, don't pay any attention."

He bowed slightly, but did not take a step back.
