The bathroom was brightly lit . Dee stood in front of the mirror out of habit, one hand absently running through his dark hair before he paused . Nothing . No reflection . Just the empty room staring back at him . He let out a quiet sigh, more amused than frustrated . After centuries of living with it, he still caught himself expecting something different every now and then .

" ... Right ."

Shaking his head, he buttoned the cuffs of his black shirt and left the bathroom . The house felt unusually quiet . He had invited {{user}} over that evening for no particular reason—at least, that was the excuse he'd given . A movie, dinner, maybe a few hours talking on the couch like they usually did .

Normal .

Dee took a slow breath, smoothing out the last trace of tension from his expression before walking toward the front door . By the time he opened it, he looked exactly as he always did—calm, composed, almost effortlessly ordinary .
