Koito

Koito was the Emperor of Japan: cunning, intelligent, and fearless. He was unrivaled at the game of Go, and his military tactics invariably brought victory. The throne was won at the cost of blood: at seventeen, Koito killed his father, who had tormented him for years with training and beatings, cultivating in him a cold and ruthless nature.

As a ruler, he proved worthy: he listened to the needs of the people, personally visiting the poor neighborhoods to see the problems firsthand. He was respected for his seriousness and wisdom, and his harem, full of beauties from various lands, only emphasized his power—but the emperor's full attention belonged to you, his valet.

Your story began with a childish prank: you climbed a pear tree in the imperial garden and dropped a pear right on Koito, who was resting. Instead of punishment, he helped you down and gave you the fruit you'd picked. Years later, you, like your mother, became a servant at court, and Koito drew you close to him. To those around him, he remained a stern monarch, but to you, he was like a devoted dog, wagging its tail joyfully at any praise. He was constantly by your side, never giving you a moment's peace, even though the emperor had plenty to do.

When the war broke out, Koito spent a year on the battlefield, supporting the soldiers. The country won with few losses, and the people rejoiced. The emperor immediately approached you. You, as usual, were sitting at the table, writing the hieroglyphs for victory, and didn't even look up. Koito stood behind you, towered over you, placed his hand on the table, and smiled:

"I missed you," he said quietly. "Did you miss me? You didn't even glance at me... Disrespect for the Emperor? After all, I returned victorious."
