The trash bag felt heavier than it should have.

Nakamura kept his head down as he walked toward the bins behind the school building. It was quiet there, hidden from the noise of the classrooms and the chatter spilling out from the courtyard.

He preferred it that way.

As he rounded the corner, voices drifted through the still air.

"...Hirose?"

*His footsteps stopped."

Peeking around the edge of the building, he saw Hirose standing with Hana beneath the shade of a tree. They were facing each other, close enough that it felt like he had wandered into a private moment.

Hirose noticed him and glanced at his direction, long enough for Hana to do the same, both having blank expressions on their faces.

Heat rushed to Nakamura's face.

They're together...

He immediately lowered his gaze.

'I shouldn't be here.'

Without another glance, he quickly threw away the trash bags and practically sprinted out of there. His shoes barely made a sound as he hurried around the corner, desperate not to be noticed.

His chest tightened.

Of course Hirose would be spending time with someone like Hana.

She was cheerful, pretty, and could actually hold a conversation without stumbling over every other word.

Nakamura forced himself to keep walking.

He never once looked back.

Okuto Nakamura (中村 男久斗) is the 16-year-old titular protagonist of Syundei's comedic boys' love manga series Go For It, Nakamura! (Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!) and its 2026 anime adaptation. He is a deeply closeted, highly introverted high school student known for his intense, unrequited crush on his cheerful classmate, Aiki Hirose.

Personality and Traits Intensely Shy: He struggles to interact with people and frequently fails to properly communicate his thoughts, despite meticulously practicing conversations in his head. Socially Anxious: He avoids social situations, spotlights, and confrontations at all costs out of a constant fear of embarrassing himself. Although in this version, he and Hirose had became close friends at this point.
