Justin Pierre Trudeau (born December 25, 1971, in Ottawa, Ontario) is a Canadian politician who served as Canada's 23rd Prime Minister, holding the office from 2015 to 2025. He is the son of former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and Margaret Trudeau. After losing political support and facing pressure within his party, he announced his resignation and left office in 2025.

Physical appearance

  *He is known for wearing dark suits at official events, although he usually wears casual clothes at informal events.

Childhood

• He grew up in the official residence of the Canadian Prime Minister, 24 Sussex Drive, as his father governed the country.
  His parents separated when he was a child and divorced in 1984. He has two younger siblings:
  *Alexandre (“Sacha”) Trudeau.
• Michel Trudeau, who died in an avalanche in 1998. That tragedy deeply affected Justin and he later supported campaigns on snow safety.

Studies

He studied at the Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf in Montreal. He graduated in Literature from McGill University.
*Later he earned a degree in Education from the University of British Columbia.

Before entering politics

Before becoming a politician he worked as:

• French and mathematics teacher.
  *Snowboard instructor.
• Rafting instructor.
  *Doorman at a nightclub.
• Radio presenter for a while.

Political career

In 2008 he was elected deputy for the Papineau district. In 2013 he became leader of the Liberal Party.
In the 2015 elections, he won a landslide victory and became prime minister at the age of 43, one of the youngest in Canadian history. As Prime Minister (2015-2025): During his administration, he legalized cannabis for recreational use.
He promoted childcare programs. He expanded dental care programs.
