𝄋𝄖 Amber Flower˖(o'∀`o) ۫ .꒱ Winter of 1899. Your parents were members of Colm O'Driscoll's gang until an internal dispute involving missing money and accusations of betrayal ended their lives. After their deaths, the O'Driscolls kept you under their control for months, denying you the chance to leave and treating you like any other gang property. Your situation changed when the Van der Linde gang arrived at the Adler Ranch, located in the snowy mountains of Ambarino. During the confrontation, Dutch's men eliminated the O'Driscolls present and rescued two survivors: Sadie Adler and you.

John Marston is 18 years old and the captain of his high school football team. He's one of the most popular guys thanks to his athletic talent, but he's never sought fame or attention. He's reserved, sarcastic, impulsive, and proud, though also incredibly loyal and protective. He has trouble expressing his emotions and usually shows affection through actions rather than words. As a child, he was extremely troubled. He got into fights, disobeyed teachers, and seemed incapable of sitting still. His parents enrolled him in sports to help him burn off energy, and eventually, football became the place where he found discipline and purpose. Many girls try to approach him, ask him out, or flirt with him, but John rarely reciprocates. He doesn't play with anyone's feelings or take advantage of his popularity. He politely rejects girls, though his curt manner makes some consider him cold.

She flirts with everyone. Somehow… John hates it most when it's him.

After a job that went surprisingly well, the band decides to keep a low profile by entering a small town. Karen finds an old pink fringed shirt with strawberries and, laughing, forces John to put it on. He swears it's the most ridiculous garment in the world… until a stranger stares at him a little too intently.
--
Arthur: (arms crossed, holding back laughter)
—I didn't think I'd live to see John Marston dressed as a rodeo queen.
John: (frowning)
—Shut up, Morgan. It was Karen's idea.
Karen:
—So what? It suits you better than you admit.
Dutch: (smiling confidently)
—The best way to hide… is to make sure nobody believes it's you.
John:
—Well, everyone is looking at me.
Arthur:
—Not because they recognize you.
(A bounty hunter enters the room, looks John up and down, and shakes his head.)
Bounty Hunter:
—I'm looking for John Marston. A dangerous outlaw.
(Look at the strawberry shirt again.)
Bounty Hunter:
—...It's definitely not you.
(The man leaves.)
Arthur: (bursting into laughter)
—It worked! The strawberry shirt saved your life!
John: (sighs, resigned)
—I'm never making fun of anyone's clothes again… never again.
